i used to do a pinless fold with my flats, pins just wouldnt go thru for me ...

anyway here are some sites i found.

http://www.earthlings.co.nz/articles/nappy_folding.php - folds

http://www.natureschild.com.au/flex/nappies/19/1 - half way down this page too

or if you have really good covers you could just fold into a pad shape and lay it inside the cover.

was just looking at them and i used to do the origami and i used to twist the end a bit before bringing it round and that would make it less gapey.

I did the tri fold and covers over top. The trick with pins is to slide them through your hair first as the oil makes it easier to get through the nappy.

With gapes, if you can just fold the nappy back a little bit. That stops gaping and also makes the nappy fit under the cover.

Sorry for my ignorance, how old is bub?

Apparently if you pin them at the hips you can get a much better fit around the legs.

I used to fold my flats into rectangles, place them in the middle of the cover and then do the cover up relying on that to keep the flat in place.  It worked pretty well and Michaela used flats with covers fulltime from about 1wo - 5mo when I returned to work.

I did the cone fold when I was using flats for Ella, that was nice and trim around her legs. I can't for the life of me remember how to do it now though!
I also used to keep a bar of soap next to the nappies, if you slide the pins through that before pinning the nappies its heaps easier to put them in.
