I want to do excercise at home without buying expensive equipment, or anything at all if possible.
I have good walking/running shoes, and Im going for short walks with Isla most days lately.
I would especially like to start strengthening my stomach muscles, but sit-ups hurt my neck.

Any suggestions would be great!

I agree, pilates is fantastic for working your core muscles and you can pick up DVDs pretty cheap of TM.  I love yoga too and also do weights at home using DVDs.

Check out this range.  It includes yoga and pilates DVDs and a few other belly focussed workouts.  http://deniseaustin.shop.sportstoday.com/Dept.aspx?cp=11491_11998 - http://deniseaustin.shop.sportstoday.com/Dept.aspx?cp=11491_11998

I use her "shrink your female fat zones" DVD a couple of times a week and find it really good.  She can be a bit cheesy but the workout is good and she looks amazing considering she's 51 and has had 2 kids so she must be doing something right.

If you don't have a credit card you can sometimes get her stuff off TM.

Did you see the pregnancy exercise DVD on there?  I want to get that one but I don't want to tempt fate.  She does a bounce back post-baby one too which I saw in her shop - I needed that a couple of years ago.

I do TurboJam and am going to do Pilates too (don't know which ones I have). TurboJam is awesome, incredibly cheesy but well worth it. The workouts are pretty intense.

Using this exercise plan and Jo's Yoga DVD I've managed to lose 7kgs in about 3months... I reckon this exercise has helped me with that.

Plan what exercise you are going to do each day, and schedule your rest day. By having a plan you are much more likely to stick to it (and you don’t end up doing just the stuff you like doing).

The human body generally gets used to one type of exercise done for four weeks so it is important to change things around a bit.

CARDIO OPTIONS
- Walk for 30-45 mins; plan out a circuit that includes up and down hill. Start with 30 and build up to an hour. Try to keep up a pace where you are sweating a little on your forehead… add a jog on the downhill or on the flat to increase your heart rate (Sounds like you already have this a bit sussed with the walks to school - just check you are working hard enough)
- Walk 2 power poles, jog one power pole… gradually build it up so that you can jog for 4 poles and recover with a walk for one. You can play with the numbers depending on your fitness.
- Turbo Jam – these dvd work outs go for 20 mins or 45 min.

CARDIO & RESISTANCE CIRCUIT - do this workout 2-3 times a week on top of your walking)
Repeat this circuit 3-4 times (or as many times as you can do it), each item is for one minute:
1) Star jumps
2) *Press ups (start on knees if you can’t do full yet, then add in some full as you get stronger)
3) Skipping on spot (with or without rope)
4) *Squats (feet shoulder width apart, bend at knee as if you are about to sit down, then back up just before knee gets to 90 degree)
5) High knee run on spot
6) *Butt raises (lie on your back, knees bent, feet on floor, then raise your hips up and high, then drop your hips almost to floor, then repeat)
7) Fast running on spot
8) *Ab crunches or full sit ups
9) Fast step ups (on to a step like on your deck)
10) *Lunges or big step ups on to a chair
* try to do these exercises more slowly and controlled

Its also an idea to go and rent some from your local DVD store, that way you can try them out before buying (and they are usually cheap weekly rentals)

I love TurboJam - it's hard work though! (but what exercise isn't?).

They have cardio party workouts, fat blaster (intense!), ab workouts, lower and upper body targeting etc. Don't know how much they cost as we got them from a friend.

I think I've also got core secrets pilates haven't tried it yet, waiting to finally get better to do my exercise as I always get sick if I exercise when I'm not 100%

It requires some form of coordination, however I somehow manage to do it and I'm about as unco as you get I think it you were really coordinated you'd get an excellent workout, I still get a really good one and some moves I only do half-assed cos I can't do any better lol
