Hi ladies,
I've been making my own pocket nappies.
In the instructions it says to sew the elastic onto the fleece side so the fleece rolls out to sit on baby's leg rather than the PUL so it's softer.
So after making 9 I realised that this could cause them to leak??
Any experience anyone??

i dont sew but you could try that FOE - fold over elastic - instead if you were worried. a lot of well known nappy brands have that fleece rolled out thing going on in the legs tho...

That's good to know that 'brand' nappies have their fleece rolled out!
I just thought I was making a hidious mistake!
I considered the FOE ones but these lastin elastic ones are cheaper

I wasnt a fan of the roll out so I top stictched mine down (Turn them the right way round and then run a stictch around the edge and come in a bit through the crotch)

Glorious, thanks ladies! Sounds like they won't be a problem, and if they are I will try top stitching them

I've been making mine for awhile now and have found that they don't leak, I have in the last stash made them with top stitiching and they still don't leak.

That's glorious news thanks Silverhorn73. What do you use for inserts?

I use handtowels to be honest. They are fantastic. They absorb everything including tummy bug poos! I just make sure that I buy the ones that are thicker and I find that they dry quickly even in winter.

Coolies, I have the old skool squares but they seem a little bulky so I was going to cut up a bunch of towels to use for a while
