My little girl is almost 10 months old. I still bf her twice in 24 hrs. I really want to wean her by the time she's 1. She doesn't take the bottle.
At this age are you still breastfeeding? How often?
If bottle feeding, how much do you give your 10 months old?

Gremlins were having 4 bottles at 10 mths - when they woke up, before their am and pm sleeps and before bed at night. I think Maya was the same, can't remember for sure. I weaned her from the breast at 10 mths and just swapped each b/feed for a bottle.

Oli is 11mths and still having 4 bottles a day. He has one when he wakes up, then before his morning nap and then around 3ish, and then one at bedtime.

Each one varies in size - the first one is normally 200ml, then the others vary between 150-200ml depending on how hungry I think he is!

Blair is also 11 months old, (fully BF) and has this week dropped his late feed. He has a milk feed after breakfast, and lunch and after his shower/bath which is after dinner and then heads off to bed after that. Somedays he is thirstier than others, but also has water available to him during the day, but not in the 30 mins or so before a meal so he doesn't fill up on water

Is Alani isn't taking a bottle, what about one of the tommee tippee cups with a straw?

At 10mos my oldest two were having 2 bf per day as well: one first thing in the morning and one for bed. I find the morning one the easiest one to drop (do it at around 11mos or when you are ready). All you need to do is get up when she gets up, don't snuggle in bed (if that's where you usually feed), and get breakfast organised right away.

When you are ready to wean altogether, you could offer a cup of water or milk right before bed. I found that by that stage my girls were suckling but not really drinking. So I just tucked them into bed without the night time feed and there was no real problem. By that stage I do have some kind of cuddly toy for them to regularly go to bed with too.

Within a week of weaning, they totally forget what it was all about.

Enjoy bras again!

My boy is 11 months (today) and has 3 - 4 breastfeeds a day.

I agree with MM - it might be worth trying a straw cup or even a sippy cup.

Megan is 10 months (in 5 days) and having anywhere from 3-6 Breastfeeds a day..

I have now switched her morning feed so she gets breakfast first then a bf about 30-45 minutes after.

She does have a sippy cup so yeah try one of those I just put water in and leave it on the ground for her.

Thanks ladies. It seems there is a big range between 2 and 6 milk feeds at that age. I should also mention that Alani drinks between 100 and 200 ml of water from a sippy cup and she has 3 solids meals plus snacks.
Mainly I am wondering if I have to replace breastfeeds with formula or if by one year old she gets her nutrition from solids and dairy only.

I'd like to know the answer to that question too!

A is still bf and has 3 per day - morning, after lunch and before bed. She is still pretty keen on her milk and asks for it regularly (signs).
