I've been looking up wraps/slings over the last couple of days. Think they sound a brilliant idea. I live on a farm & want to be able to take baby with me but still have hands free to be able to do things. Love the sound of the storchenweige wraps, but so expensive! I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them? Baby not yet born, hope to be able to use it for quite a while! Otherwise anything else anyone recommends? We  our Moby Wrap, I found it was cheapest through Mother's Instinct (plus they had free shipping). There are lots of different slings and wraps out there so I just wanted to say - if you hadn't already found the site in your research - to check out the http://www.slingbabies.co.nz - slingbabies website, lots of good info and links to wraps similar to the storchenwiege.
We've got a Dulce & Zoet sling as well and while it's very styley and easy to use bubs isn't as comfy or secure in it as he is in the Moby so I would definitely recommend a wrap of some description. I've heard with the woven wraps you need to retie them every time you take baby in and out, one of the good things about the Moby is that you can leave it tied and pop them in and out a few times or swivel them around for feeding etc. Only thing is that our wrap is black and I found when taking bubs for a walk on the weekend it got a tad too warm so that's something else to take into account! -------------

I have a D&Z which I have used with my little girl since she was very little. I love it and still use it on a regular basis.
I had a storch which I only used a few times before I got rid of it. I found it a pain to go through the process of tying metres of fabric every time I wanted to put her in it whereas the D&Z is so easy. I also found it really hot. But, on the plus side the fabric is amazing to feel and I did want to keep to keep it just because it was pretty! ------------- Anna http://lilypie.com">

PS I would NOT be without my sling! I love it and use it almost every day. I hardly ever use the buggy cause I find it so much easier to pop her in the sling. Easier to get her in and out and easier to negotiate ,y way around shops etc. Great to calm her down when she is tired or upset. ..... I love my D & Z sling for shorter trips but I reckon it would be really awkward to use if you were going to be working on the farm because you still need to support baby a bit with one hand & can't really bend forward etc. A wrap looks like it would be more supportive & leave your hands a bit more free. We've got friends who live on a farm & they use one of those tramping style back pack baby carriers. you can use an ergo from newborn with an insert but not for a back carry. i have one and my husband loves it to carry eden. i have a d&z too but am finding it a bit annoying lately. it keeps bunching on my shoulders and giving me a sore neck. and eden just doenst look comfy in it. ------------- http://www.myfitnesspal.com/weight-loss-ticker">

I absolutely love my mobywrap. It is perfect from birth right through with different positions for different ages. My little man loves being close and snuggled so its just perfect.

Thanks guys! Do you find the moby wraps quite robust? Thats one thing I'm concerned about - and they say they are not so good once they get bigger because the stretchy is not supportive enough?? Now thinking though that I should just get a moby one for when first born, & if I find that they're outgrowing it & I still really want a storch one, get it then (if we can afford it!!!). I've only had my Moby for 3 weeks so can't really comment on the robustness, but I don't see why it wouldn't last once they get bigger (guess it might just start to lose it's stretch?). I've been taking bubs for a walk with ours for exercise (up gravel roads, so easier than navigating a stroller) and it works well. It is hot on sunny days, but then silly mummy got a black one, didn't she - I suspect the lighter coloured ones would be better (plus if you're going to be spending a lot of time out in the sun might be worth spending the extra $5 or whatever it was for the UV-treated option). -------------

You can customise your fabrics that you use. I find it really comfy and easy to put on. You can carry bubs on your back, side or front. Nic, you're after a Storchenwiege?
I've got a 5.2m one and had to get it from a US site, worked perfectly. I'm a sz 18-20 atm (more 20 TBH) and it fit's well. http://www.storchenwiege.com/ - Storchenwiege I really think they are one of the best, but they are expensive. They will easily last you for 5 children and some people even pass them on to their grandchildren.

I second the moby, especially for a baby.
I easily carried DD for long walks (over an hour) until she was well over 9 months. She always felt very very secure in the wrap. From the time she turned 1, I've mainly used my pouch sling (homemade), just cause DD preferred to sit on my hip from then on. I love my sling and use it daily, but I would not have used it for her when she was little. Not sure how much the Storchwiege costs, but I paid about $70 for my moby (new) and it was worth every cent

Anyway I emailed Aquabub and they said they sell it now on my natural baby, she's doing an order next week so we're going to get one through them but she said (for future reference to anyone!) she won't be ordering it until next year and hopes to have all sizes/colours available by april! We need the 5.2 because dp is like 6'3ish and 140kg so has to fit him too because our one currently doesn't go round his waist and I can't get it tight enough on mine. He looked so disappointed too 
I have tried a Moby but tbh I can never get it tight enough otherwise I would have got one! Also was told yesterday if you have a back archer it's not the best jic and DD sometimes likes to do that in our front pack just she can't go anywhere! She enjoyed her time yesterday in the storchenwiege even managed to steal a bite of the cake I was eating lmao------------- http://lilypie.com">
