Posted in TTC but thought i might get more here with girls that are pregnant!

Hey Ladies,

Not prego yet or activly ttc but am now just going with the flow if ya know what i mean !

I started Vitex about 3 weeks ago and just wanted to know when you do get a BFP do you stop right away or wean yourself off it?
I read on the internet (dont you hate that damn thing, making me worry!) that you have to wean yourself off otherwise it can cause M/C but i am sure some of the girls on here have just stopped as soon as they got BFP and have kept their bubbies!
Do you take the whole way through your cycle or stop after ovulation (which i have no idea when that is!)

Just want to be prepared!

Hi Hannah

I took vitex for about 6 months everyday. As soon as I got my BFP (12DPO) I stopped taking it, as that was what I was recommended to do.

My understanding is that they say it is not safe to take while pregnant because it has not been tested on pregnant women. This does not necessarily make it unsafe.

Good luck when you do start trying!

Hi Hannah

I think Vitex is awesome - I took it for only two months - just for the first twom weeks till an ovulation test showed positive and then stopped.

I had tried accupuncture and loads of other stuff for months and this seemd to have worked (or couldbe a coincidence??)

Hiya,
I took Vitex it was really good. If you go to the Thompsons site you can e-mail their Natropath. She told me to stop once pregnancy was confirmed. I did have early bleeding but all was fine.

good luck
:)
Lou
