This is just soo soo sad.

An innocent man leaving work saw a woman get assaulted, tried to help but got stabbed. He died not long after.

He was so in the wrong place at the wrong time. Makes you realise not to take each day for granted....one day you could be minding your own business, on your way home from work, supermarket etc and then it's over.

What an awful way to end your life. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

It is just awful..and not the sort of thing you'd expect in Auckland during broad daylight hours when there were probably heaps of people around??

Glad they have arrested someone, but it won't bring the guy back to his poor family!

That is so awful.  What an amazing guy though, coming to the aid of a colleague.

My step-father was caught up in it all
He works in the building that the victim worked in and they were all detained in the building until the area was secure. (eta: Just found out my step-dad worked with the guy )

How absolutely tragic!
It makes me sick that someone would do that - and to someone so completely innocent and just doing what he felt was right!

My sister and her DP live in the city and both walk that way to get to and from work each morning and night.
It scares me

My thoughts are with his family.

I walked past the police cordon this morning on my way to work. You just don't expect this sort of thing to happen. His poor family

This is terrible!!!  It breaks my heart, he looked like such a nice guy!  Too young to die, and so innocently.
