I am planning on working through til about three weeks before. I have quite an easy job. I did with my first but am finding I am so much more tired and easily knackered with this time around!!!

(do you think that has something to do with age...I dont think I am that old!!!)

I'm finishing up a month before hand...I think I'd be too knackered to work through and I want some time to chill before bubs comes.

That said I'll probably end up bored silly!

With Paige I finished work on the Friday and was to have 3 weeks off organising all the bits I had forgotten... She arrived the following Tuesday. I dont want this to happen again so hopefully three weeks before due date will be fine!!!

Yea I'm working up until 3 weeks before hand too.

Mostly cos we want to get as much money as possible before finishing! lol
And also, I think three weeks rest is plenty provided bubs doesn't arrive too early if early at all.

I think anything from 3-4 weeks is good. And I don't have a stressful job at all. My whole day consists of sitting at my desk by the computer on.... Oh baby? hehe

I planned to leave 3 weeks before hand with Kobe but he came 6 weeks early so I didnt get a chance to rest before he arrived (or train my replacement!) With this one its hard because my job is only part time and just behind a desk but i want to have a break first but then I might go early again so if I plan for that I could finish to early and end up sitting around being bored and just counting the hours

I'm due on the 18th Sep and all going to plan and no complications, I'm planning for my last day to be the 1st which is around 2 1/2 weeks before my due date. We really need the money and I would rather be off work with my baby than waiting around for him/her to appear!! Of course if we could afford it, it would be a whole different story!!

I'm working until a month before I'm due. Mostly because I'm starting to hate everyone here and would rather not see them by the time I'm really irritable!

I don't work... I'm a SAHM... but I do cook dinner and desert for the local branch of the Lion's Club twice a month. I told them last night I could do it until their last meeting in August (probably last week of August), which means that if Baby comes early, I'm not going to leave them in the lurch. So that's 6 weeks before I'm due.

Hi
My last day is going to be the 23rd of June and Im due on the 27th. So hopefully he is not early. Im only having 4 months off so I want to have as much time as possible with our baby. I get bored really easily and am impatient so i wouldnt enjoy being home for a while before + my husband works from home and I think i would drive him mad if I had a few weeks off before hand. Hopefully the time will go faster if I work. Im an accountant too so sitting at my desk all day is fine - and my boss is prepared that things might change closer to the time, so luckly if i need to finish early I can.

Hey guys, i am due 20th August with my first so planning on leaving work on 4th August, so two weeks before. Like many of you i would go insane at home all the time. Am a fulltime nanny so going back to work after and work not too hard. PLus kids are 4 & 6, so easy ages, and very excited. 2 weeks is ok though aye?

2 weeks should be fine but talk to your employer (as baby has the plan when they are coming out) and say from 4 weeks before your due date you may have to give notice 24 hours in advance... or things might start happening and if there is someone available to cover.

Yes I would make sure there is someone to cover you as these little people just decided to come when "they" are ready!!!I never dreamed Paige would be early but she was and fortunately I had just finished a few days before!!

I finished work at 28 weeks with Maya as I had SPD and my job required long periods of sitting and they weren't prepared to be flexible with breaks etc.

But this time I plan to work right up until the babies arrive, the benefit of working from home. It means I can rest when I am tired and work when I feel well. Plus am figuring I will need the time off more after the babies arrive than before hand!

Congratulations Emma! Hadfn't clicked to you expecting two! They are exciting, if you are in auckland, i will give you details of someone to contact if you haven't already for multiple birth club. Great people, excellent help. Yea my boss is pretty flexible, has asked me back, so i'm sure if baby came early there would be no problem, also my best friend is working for me while i'm away, so again call and she's there.

Thanks Chonny. have been in touch with teh Ak Central Multiple Birth club and the lady I spoke to was really nice. Her twins are the same type as what they think mine are, and she has a similar age gap between her twins and her older child that we will have with Maya and our twins, so it was really good to talk to her. they're sending me some info, registration forms etc.

I am the same as Emma - I would rather have the time off with bubs than finishing up early before hand.
