Sorry weird title, wasn't sure what to write.
On Tuesday (I think it was Tues, maybe monday? ) of this week, I was changing bubs nappy when I noticed that his diddle had a very prominent lump in it, as in underneath the skin ....so I went in for a closer look and it kinda moves around, about the size of my pinky fingernail, sorta oval/round in shape. At the time it oddly looked like a welt. When his thing is erect (God, it's incredibly uncomfortable talking/writing about this ) the lump appears to be bigger.
So I rush him off to the Drs within about half an hour of stumbling across it, the Dr tells me it's 'Smegma' ...I have researched this online and seen photos, I personally think he has misdiagnosed.
He told me to keep a close eye on it, that if it didn't go away within a couple days to a week, or it started getting bigger - that it could be a cyst and we may need a referral to a Paed.
So I guess what I'm asking here is, does this sound familiar to anyone? Any of your wee men had a similar thing? ...Umm any ideas of what else it could be? And IF it is a cyst, what happens with the whole process of removal?
I rang to try and book with OUR Dr (the day I rushed in him there we ended up seeing my brothers Male dr at the same surgery. Usually I see a female who works with babies also etc) ...anyways she's in high demand and earliest I can go see her for a 2nd opinion would be Monday. So I told the receptionist to flag that Idea and that I wanted the Dr we originally saw, to phone me up so we could talk. Still waiting to hear back ...not sure what else I can do BUT Lucas is starting to get rather distressed at nappy times and doesn't like me cleaning or touching that area ....it looks a little more prominent. I'm concerned, but not sure what to do next ...
TIA

Forgot to add, its near the base/top half of penis ...not near the tip. And it moves around, tis about the size of my pinky finger nail and I wouldn't say it's hard, but its a definite lump.

Could something foriegn have got in there and its just got fluid around it now (kinda like a blister i guess).. cause Daniel had a weird lump on his and he had a piece of fingernail stuck in there and it just got all this fluid build up around it so it made it swell more.

Eek that sounds excruciatingly painful for the wee boy ...I'm guessing it just came out on its own accord and you didn't know what was causing it until it came out?
I guess something could go up there and get trapped ...sounds possible. Does this only happen when they aren't circumcised?

Nah doc had to fix that one for him lol. It makes an interesting note on his file
Don't know about the circumsized thing. Daniel just plays with his too much when his nappy is off. That's all his problem is.

might not be the same thing but i remember being worried about something similar to what you described and when i took him to the doctor she said it was basically the part that was going to be the top of the penis..not the top but the ridge part below that (god I dont even know what its called, how bad is that!) to me it looked like a lump and it would move

Im hoping for your sake that it gets smaller and goes away by itself but if it is bigger tomorrow I would get it checked before the weekend. My wee fella had a lump, it was further back near his testi and I thought it might go away but he ended up needed an emergency operation.
Dont mean to worry you

Ok now I'm worried ... Bubs sits very much back near the testi unless someone goes in for a look and then it moves ...
Any idea what it was called?
