I've found that lately (in the last week) when my bladder gets really full, things have actually started to hurt a lot more, but it's mostly on my right side and fairly low down. If I wasn't pregnant I'd say it's where my ovaries are, although I'm not sure they'd be in the same spot right at the moment ! Anybody else have this? It's super uncomfortable, and even though I go to the bathroom heaps anyway, it's hard to get the timing right sometimes to avoid it hurting.
Also, I know panadol is "safe", but would it be reasonable / effective to take for Braxton Hicks?

I get a lot of pains down there too, at the moment the main part is around the whole pubic bone area, feels like it is being ripped apart when I move (what a shame will have to stay on the couch) I wouldnt think braxton hicks woudl last long enough for panadol to kick in, mine only last a minute or so and shouldnt really be that painful. Baby is probably pushing everything to the side so no wonder it hurts!

Can't say it's the same as the pubic bone pains, although I did wonder, feels more muscular - like a tighly wound spring or something.
As for the BH - they don't last long individually, but will get a whole series of them which is the problem, for one it's hard to deal with at work when I have to be on the phone all the time and leaves me quite tired sometimes (which is why I wondered about the panadol, kinda reminds me of how I used to feel after early period pains).
Feels like I've got a baby octopus in there rather than a little girl at the moment LOL

Hey Lu, I might do if it keeps popping up over the weekend, so I will let you guys know ! I am not prone to ringing her that often (has only been once so far, with my "old" midwife), but this may well be an exception.

Ok nevermind, looked it up and did a bit of reading, thought it could well be a bladder infection, and called my midwife. She said I should go into a lab tomorrow and get my routine bloods and other stuff done because they'd get me to pee as well anyway, but then only AFTER I'd hung up on her did I realise that I'm working tomorrow !! So I'm going to have to wait until Sunday morning, and luckily there's a lab not too far from here that will be open despite the holiday. *groan* What a pain in the arse...

Did I mention I'm not the most patient person? :P Was a bit sore last night, and again this morning, but so far so good - mind you, having things to do at work might be keeping my mind off it. Will head out to the lab first thing tomorrow morning, so much for a sleep in

Ok so I was a bit lazy, went to have the bloods done as well as the glucose challenge - which just tasted like lemonade. Pretty sure something is going to show up though, coz it's been a bit more sore than before, and I'm feeling REALLY drained *sigh* Oh the joys. If it doesn't show up anything though, then I'm gonna be annoyed...
And so I just hafta wait some more, don't know if the results will be out tomorrow or tuesday, my midwife said to make sure they knew it was urgent.

Ok so, if I had the tests done on Sunday, and the form was marked urgent with the box ticked to call my midwife when the results come through, do you think they would have rung her by now? Or, even though the lab was open, would the results not come through until tomorrow because of the public holidays? I'm getting REALLY sore, am pretty sure it's not Braxton Hicks because I'm still getting those and they're not painful, just odd. This sore feeling still gets a little 'better' if I pee, although there is no burning or unusual increase in frequency (I keep my fluids up anyway, and am going hard on cranberry juice and water). If the results *have* come through, but there's nothing there and so no reason for them to have rung my midwife, I'm going to go crazy - it really makes me catch my breath now, best thing for me to do is stop EVERYTHING and stay still until it passes. Panadol sometimes helps... and I realise I sound like a wimp, but even if it was contractions surely it wouldn't start out so badly, or go on for so long? I'm not as panicked as this must sound, I'm just really annoyed. Tired of being tired basically ! My chronic impatience doesn't help I suppose !
Edited to add: Almost forgot to mention that I don't think it's gas either, not farting more than normal and not constipated either. Also sent my midwife a txt to see if she'd heard anything, but haven't heard back yet.

I'd personally expect if the urgent box was ticked regardless if it was a public holiday, i'd think that it would be important enough to of had the results by now! man, you shouldnt have to be going through pain and not knowing why sounds like you might have to wait another night though. fingers crossed that you do get an answer soon, cause its not normal to be in pain like that, and the sooner you know whats wrong the sooner it can be sorted.
argh... BIG HUGS! and you dont sound like a wimp, you sound like you are in pain.

And so the saga continues ! I will try and keep it short as I am knackered. Pain was pretty bad today but I just muddled through it, and then got a txt from my midwife saying all of my test results were (you guessed it!) NORMAL She said I should see a doctor, so I thought about it and tried to figure out when the best time would be. Anyway, I went and explained everything to my team leader, who said - why wait, go now ! Hopped in a taxi, off to a medical clinic (Ascot), who then shuttled me off to hospital. Saw my midwife who made me pee again and took more blood just in case, but nothing showed there either. However, after finally seeing the obstetric registrar who was on call, it seems I have a damaged ligament - the main one that holds up my flipping uterus !! I'm not on bed rest as such but can't do much else either, and was told to buy some 'sensible knickers' (the support kind), take panadol every 4-6 hours to control the pain, and not to go to work for at least a week to make sure the muscle / ligament has time to heal.
WHEW. So we finally headed home, grabbed some Wendys for dinner, and here I am !

Yup they are perfectly fine and just want me in one piece, haha ! I rung them straight after, and just got them to put me through to the team leader that was on call. They have been really good so far, even paid for the cab that I took to the clinic (Roland left work early to go get the car so I wouldn't have to, as we do a combo of drive / bus to get to work most mornings, and then met me at the clinic later.)

Does it help if I say I still feel like a wuss, and this is the first time I've taken time off for anything remotely pregnancy related?
Mind you, I think part of this overwhelming 'wuss' thing that I'm feeling right now is the woman I could hear down the hall in a birthing suite at the hospital screaming LOTS, ack !

Ok so, had a sleep in, but am wondering if my body has misinterpreted things and taken the signal to relax the wrong way - I had two bananas, and a weak coffee as I mentioned before, nothing out of the ordinary... except (*bites her tongue about feeling like a wimp*)... now I feel nauseous the same way I did in the first trimester, argh ! Am hoping it will pass, but we'll see *sigh* I'm supposed to be getting better, not sicker ! Not that I feel really 'ill' though, do you know what I mean ? Just worn out a bit.

Hehehe thanks, I got the idea last night and stayed up WAY past my bedtime just to get it done LOL Feeling better today, although my appetite has gone down again - not ready to eat a horse like I was before No nausea, which is good, although I'm avoiding anything TOO sweet or "too" anything, you know? Went to EGG and bought some of the support knickers, although they're not as good as the ghastly flesh colored support belts they had, so I got one of those too At least nobody will be able to see it under my clothes ! Had a really busy morning, but of course all the walking has made me REALLY sore again - and my aim for the rest of the afternoon is to do as little as possible (Went to the bank, post shop, etc)

Just a quick update.
Thought things were slowly but surely getting better, although I've had cause to reconsider and will get to that in a minute.
Anyway, the doc at the hospital said to take a week off work, albeit didn't realise I'm not in a typical monday-friday job and when she wrote down five days only gave five consecutive days (not including the weekend). Anyway, in the last week some of my days were rostered off, and the other TL I spoke to (not my own, there are two) said to give them a call when I was feeling better and we'd sort something out. I rang *my* TL today to say I'd be happy to come back Wednesday (rostered off Anzac day), and she actually sounded kinda annoyed ! I'm trying not to take it personally, because she was only on-call (rather than physically at work in our building), but the way she handled it still got up my nose a bit, mostly the part where she said "Well, you're the one who's been sick, it's your call..." Because I felt she'd rather have me back tomorrow than Wednesday. *sigh* Well, baby comes first I'm afraid, I just hate it when I get these vibes from people, especially at work !! They've otherwise been really good about everything (and I really will only have missed four rostered shifts in total not counting my rostered days off).
So, about my 'cause to reconsider' how well this is healing, the "attacks" (stabbing pain from ligament problem) have decreased somewhat in frequency and duration, but not quite so much in intensity. If I'm really lucky it's only once a day, and then going to the loo to take a bit of pressure off will help, and so then the pain only lasts maybe a total of 5 minutes.
On average though, it will still happen a couple of times in a day, which is entirely manageable I guess - but tonight there was an exception. Fortunately, I suppose, it was brief - but I was watching CSI (on tv LOL and it was the original vegas baby, yeah !) and went to get up to the loo and WHAM ! Ow ! *cringe* It was like someone had put a REALLY sharp knife in there. So I shuffled down to the toilet since the pressure was probably what had brought it on, but it was still SO painful that I couldn't sit down properly to pee
You know what? I'm rambling. Not sure why, could be me being tired of being tired, and a bit restless I spose. It's just that on one hand, this pain / ligament problem is "bearable" despite the fact that I would rate it a 9.5 out of 10. On the other hand, I would be quite happy to stay at home longer despite how bored I get, but it would affect us financially, and I really don't want to have intermittent, random, stabbing pain through the rest of my pregnancy.
I guess I just had to put this out there, to feel a little better... sorry to whinge so much !
