i don't think any of us will ever be able to comprehend such a large amount of money unless we actually win it ourselves

yes I am talking about powerball..jack potted to 24 million.

even if you were to say spend 4 million buying/building your dream home and helping out family and close friends and put the rest in the bank and live off the interest. you would get around $18k a week in interest after tax. The average person would take around 6-8 months to earn that by working and just think you would have that in a week.

it will be interesting to see if it does end up jack potting to 30 million..would be kind of nice if say 20 people won I certainly would not complain if we won 1.5 million would pay off our mortgage :) plus be to able to do renovations around the house.

That would pay off my mortgage ten times over!
Yes please!

But I agree - $18k a week... it'd be like working in a chocolate factory - you'd get pretty over it pretty quick, I'd say.

I'd be happy with a few hundred thousand I'd be over the moon with more than that.

Imagine if you did put it in the bank to accrue interest how much you could do for family, friends and charity.

i'd give alot of it away to charities each year.....there's no way you could spend that amount of money and not get bored after a while

gutted that we didn't win at least $50 last night

Yay we've still got a chance to win next week. phew didn't get a ticket yesterday.
There's lots I could do if money wasn't an issue.
Be a full time SAHM, pay off the mortgage do the renovations.

Buy a property in Europe somewhere to go holiday for 3 months a year during the winter months.

We could buy apartments in Wellington and Auckland so we don't have to stay with our parents every time we visit.

Interest of 2.4m a year would be so good. I'd probably still work part-time. I could finally live my dream of having my own B&B, homestay business.

I'd be quitting work, go back to study, maybe just work part time, so would DH. Buy a house, pay of debts, help out family etc. And travel. Lots of travel.

One thing that always annoys me about the big jackpots being won is when people complain if someone wins it all to themselves.

I mean sure, it would be "nice" for more people to get a share of the money - but at the end of the day, good on anyone who wins a huge sum! I certainly wouldn't be sitting there with $20Million thinking "gee, I wish I had to share this with 19 other people"... Good on whoever wins it I say

I agree
it all comes down to luck for every line you have you have a 1 in 38 million of winning.

and those who complain I am sure they wouldn't turn down 24 million :)

i think that once it gets to over 18+million it should be split into 18 prizes of 1 million.
