If you suffer from migraines please help!
Yesterday I felt like i'd had a migraine e.g. when I tipped my head forward it was really painful. However, I usually get blurry vision first and hadn't had that.
This morning I woke at 5 with a head so sore I coulnd't lift my head off the pillow. Took 2 nurofen plus and went back to sleep. Woke at 7 and was no better. Took 2 more nurofen plus at 9 and went back to bed for 3 hours. Still no better. Now, 12 hours on I'm still no better.
I've never had a migraine that doesn't respond to nurofen plus. I'm in so much pain I'm freaking out.
Anyone had one like this?
DH has the flu - headache, fever, sore throat and sore tummy. I've just got a sore head so presume mine is migraine not flu.

I'd be off to the doctor if I was you. You may need to be put onto proper migraine medication.
They might have to give you an injection of Tilcotil. If you aren't keen on the injection (works really fast) ask for the tablets (work nearly as fast) The thing is though you'll have to go to bed and sleep after you've had it. I'd ask about taking some preventatives eg: Imigram (sp) If the nurofen isn't working clearly it's moving onto something more serious.
Also it could be the start of the flu???

HI FionaS. I went through a period a few years ago where I suffered a lot of migraines. I used to take nurofen but eventually it had no effect. Sometimes paracetamol worked better, but sometimes not and I just had to suffer through it until it went away, usually a day or so. I would often loose my appetite and get the nausea and vomitting too, then feel a bit better after vomitting and a sleep. Do you feel nauseous as well? Maybe try paracetamol and lie down in a dark room with a cold flannel on your head.

Yes, nauseous now but I thought that might be from painkillers. To scared to take more but can hardly move due to the pain.

Sorry forgot to mention also that after going to a Doc for my migraines I was put on a couple of pills which I was supposed to take when I could feel one coming on. Except sometimes I was a bit unsure if it was the start of a migraine or just a headache so was a bit reluctant to take these really strong pills if it was nothing more than a headache. I started seeing a chiropractor 2 years ago and I haven't had any more migraines since.

Yeah I saw one and he told me to go in next time I had one so he could check out what the root of them was but I don' t have the $$ at the mo.
Last time he treated me I had none for quite a while. He said they were hormonal and due to muscles in my neck.

Yeah I know they costs heaps and I almost fell over when I saw how much it was going to cost annually, but it does seem to work. My migraines were thought to be hormonal too, so when I got pregnant I thought they would come back with all the stuff going on with my body, but I continued seeing the chiropractor and didn't get a migraine.
I do agree with Bizzy though, turn off your computer now and go lie down. Hope you feel better soon.
