Is anyone else considering having cosmetic surgery after you've finished having babies?
DH and I came to an agreement before we started. If I have the babies and breast feed etc, I want everything put back where it started one we're done. Women in my family all have what the doc described as Chronic Withering of the Breast Tissue from breast feeding. I didn't tell DH that a breast lift costs about 12.5k  but I think it will benefit both of us lol. It might be a bit vain but I am more than happy to have it all put back to normal. Yes I am, and have looked into it. I have large boobs (E's) and they didn't change after feeding either (well they went up a cup size after feeding Andrew). I am going to have a reduction and lift (down to a large C) but first I want to be a decent weight too to have it down. But then who knows if I loss the weight the boobs may get smaller and I wont have to have it done. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

I would definitely consider a breast reduction/lift. I was a F/G cup pre-pregnancy, and now am up to a J!  I fully expect that they will be saggier once I finish BF, and who knows what they'll be like after more child bearing/rearing.
I had considered a breast reduction before having children, but figured that I wanted to breast feed (which is more difficult after having a reduction, if you can at all), and I also suspected that the boobs would change heaps during pregnancy/BF, so didn't want to fork out all that money to have it become obselete. (as an aside, I had chronic back pain from them during pregnancy, and still have some now, so it would be nice to think health insurance might help out a little down the road!) -------------

I started as a double D. I've never been able to wear boob tubes or a halter neck. It's just not a good look.
I think i've passed an E now. I got my boob caught in the washing machine when I closed the lid this morning LOL. A friend has been approved for a reduction through her medical ins for the same reason Blondy. She only has to pay $1800.00 and they'll pick up the rest of the bill due to back pain. that's good to hear Danaj! Fortunately I've started the 'documentation' process (i.e. had regular osteopathic treatment during pregnancy), but need to keep onto it, and keep GP informed etc. The thing is that there really isn't anything that can be done - except for me improving my posture, and doing some exercises to strengthen my back muscles - so just need to make sure all my complaining is written down by health professionals, so it doesn't look like I'm making it up for the insurance company!

I would loooove a reduction/lift as well. I've spoken with my chiro over it as my bras have left indents in my shoulders and I always have a slight back ache and running can get really quite painful. (I'm an F/G cup). My chiro thinks i could get mine done publicly which means a long wait but would be a much cheaper option just from all the hastles I've had and he said he would be one of the supporting professionals for me which was kinda nice. But for now I'm not going to worry about it since I have to get #2 out of the way first

The indents in the shoulders sound painfull. I've heard that can cause nerve damage in the arms.
I agree with getting the baby making out of the way. I was thinking about when i'm say nearly 40 so i'm still young enough to flash them to the public lol. I don't care, if these are going to cost me over 12k then i'm showin everyone I can!!! Hopefully the ins company can see that you're in genuine pain blondy and not making it up to get treatment. I'm fortunate enough not to have a major problem at the mo but they do effect my posture more now than ever. I guess I just don't want to wind up looking like a 3 day old tea bag. And, can you imagine going into a lingerie store and getting those pretty little bras with only one hook on the back!! My bras look like they could house a third world country. I saw one I liked in a smaller size and when it arrived into the store in my size, it looked like 2 igloos stuck together and had 6 hooks!! ------------- http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wyI1oWn/">

| hehe bra shopping is interesting. The only brand that really works for me is fayreform. They at least do have some nice looking stuff compared with 10 years ago. When i was in high school needing DD's I could only get nana bras. These days there is way more variety coming through in the bigger sizes which is cool. But I hate having to fork out approx $50 per bra |

I've watched my sister go through 3 C sections. It's left her with a nasty pouch and terrible stretch marks. She's only a size 8 and almost has to tuck her tummy into her jeans. She always holds her hands around her waist and you can tell it's effected her self esteem. My DH has totally supported my desire to have a tummy tuck if I want after this pregnancy as we are not planning anymore kids. After my c-section with DD I was left with a small pouch and HATED IT!! I got down to 58 kgs after having it but still couldn't completely get rid of it so I guess going under the knife is the only option. Guess it depends on cost etc.-------------
