My ultrasound scan (for mid-cycle bleeding) showed I have an abnormally thick endometrium. My doc isn't sure why so I have to go to see a gynae and may need MORE surgery :(

This would be my 4th surgery - 2 laparoscopies that showed nothing wrong, one D&C for polyps, 1 D&C to remove the partial molar and now probably another D&C. 4 D&C's significantly increases the risk of an incompetent cervix too.

We wanted to TTC this month so I am so mad! First it took 2 years to get Elle for unexplained reasons, then I got preg immed but it was a blighted ovum, then I got preg again immediately but it was a partial molar (2 sperm fertilising one egg) and now this.

All the problems have been unrelated but all to do with fertility.

GRUMPY!

Anyone had a thickened endometrium before? What was it due to?

Hugs. This must be so hard for you. I really hope that this is your final surgery before a sticky BFP.

Hi Fiona, sorry to hear. My first preg resulted in mc at 10 wks, I then had medication to clear me out. After 5 months I still did not have AF and kept testing +ve. Ended up I had thicken endomentrium lining (they thought Molar or Partial - luckily not) but I had D&C and laproscopy to clean out. I fell preg the month after - however mc again - 2 more times...now on clomid trying again, but I hope you get this sorted. Spec said my thickend endometrium was retained preg tissue?

Thanks for your replies. It is off the specialist for me on Friday. Apparently they will do a biopsy of my endometrium right there on the spot...no anaesthetic. YAY - not!

Just hoping it is all resoved quickly so we can hurry up and get preggers with number 2. It has been a YEAR since we decided we were ready
