well just thought i would pop in and say hello, as i have a very rare quiet moment :)
Rhiannon is demand feeding at the moment especially as she is so tiny. but it means that i am breast feeding about every 2 hours, for an hour at a time, and at night it tends to take a bit longer,
I am lucky if i am getting more than 3 hours sleep in a stretch at night, and as much as everyone is telling me to sleep when she sleeps, she is only sleeping for about 30mins after a feed, so there goes that idea.
but apart from that Rhiannon is just a little bundle of joy and we are so blessed that she is finally here.
I will be back when things have settled down a bit, or the next time i have a spare minute.

thanks for "checking" in!!! great to hear that you are doing ok. sleep aye? hmmm.... hopefully for you you will start to get a little more than 3 hours straight!! thought about expressing a little and letting your partner feed? in the end i had to with my second baby just to get some sleep (but then i ended up waking anyway!)
hang in there! sounds like you are doing good

Try feeding her on your side, while in bed. I found I could nod off while Taine happily slurped away. I know that we aren't supposed to, however, it made for a happier mum, therefore happier baby, so i think it is a good idea!

I know everyone says this, but it DOES get better and easier. Mason demand fed every hour - two hours when he was born, and I felt like all I was was a milk machine. I hardly slept either, it was tough to sleep during the day, and he didn't let me sleep at night. In a few weeks time things will be much easier, trust me!
I agree with the expressing thing. I found that it was really helpful for me to express a bottle a day (it was only 50ml or so per feed at that stage), and get someone to come over and look after/feed him while I had a rest during the day. Even getting 2 or 3 hours sleep mid afternoon will make you feel heaps better during the night.
She's gorgeous, by the way. Little girls just make me melt!

Glad you could pop in, Katrina! I agree with the advice about expressing, and also what Liz said about feeding lying down... I would do that with Josiah also, and it made for some good sleep on occasion!

Yip lying in bed and feeding I am guilty of as well, my partner gets up and gets Xanda, changes his nappy and then brings him into the bedroom and Xanda snuggles up and as Liz says slurps away and falls back to sleep. This gets me a couple more hours sleep some mornings, otherwise I would be up at 5am every morning.

i too am guilty of feeding while lying in bed
sometimes ya just have to do it to get that little bit extra sleep and it's nice to have the cuddles with bubs too
as pixeldust said, it does get easier, for me it was at the 6wk mark. which may seem like forever away but trust me, it goes by sooooo fast!!
glad to hear everything is going well for you and your new little family. jack was 5lbs 12oz and it's so hard to ever remember them being so small!!

I am guilty of that too....lying in bed. Honestly I found that there is nothing wrong with that. If you are stressed then baby is too....so try that.
Glad every thing is going well tho and cant wait to see more pics soon. Rest up and try and keep us updated (I know you will be busy...)
