In the latest Woman's Day magazine, there is an article about a couple who tried for years to have a baby.
After seven failed IVF attempts and 2 miscarriages, they are now proud parents of 2 lots of twins. And if that is not amazing enough.
They were born at the same time in 2 seperate pregnancies.
How? I hear you ask.
Well she did one last IVF attempt, and had 3 fertilized eggs placed, as well they had a surrogate have 3 fertilized eggs placed. Surrogate was carrying eggs from the mother that had been fertilized by the father.
Surrogate and mother found out they were both pregnant within a few weeks of each other, then at 6 week ultra sound found out they were both carrying twins. So one lot of twins were born by surrogate, then 3 days later the mother delivered the other set of twins by c section.
All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!

Wow! That's amazing. I wonder why they did the surrogacy and the IVF at the same time?

WOW! What an awesome story!
Chelle - I would assume that after 7 failed attempts at IVF they were fairly sure the next one wouldn't work so gave surrogacy a whirl as a back up and voila! Quads! Ha! How fabulous!

That is so cool. Double whammy, that would shock you!
I cant believe I am going to say this, but that has been a storyline on Home and Away... except singletons not twins.

I think it's weird they did the surrogate at the same time as well..? but as you say i guess it doubles the chances and if the surrogate was happy...i just read this and they were born a week apart.. crazy! Woody,Walker, Wesley and Ally Sue.
