I use a Mooncup, same principle, and I wouldn't ever go back to a tampon again! I love it - and don't see why it is any grosser or wierder than other menstrual products.

Tampons with wings???
So if you are using a public bathroom how do you get on? Like when you are out or at work how would you rinse it? How often do you have to empty it?

Tampons with wings. I'm still giggling!
And public bathroom, I just use the disabled stall and rinse it in there. or take a bottle of water in with you and rinse it with that.
I normally empty once or twice a day. Depends on heavy you bleed but most women who switch to cloth pads and/or mooncup find their periods become lighter and easier. Was true for me.

Yeah, tampons with wings - I just don't understand.
Not ONCE have I thought to myself "hrmm...I wish my tampons had wings..."
The wings would just get squashed flat when they get shoved in, right?
Anyway. I've heard good things about the Diva/Moon cups.
I'm just no good with blood, so the less I have to deal with it, the better

yeah i've seen them too not sure on how hygenic they are but i guess when you think about it they are worse than tampons or pads.
I have seen the add for those winged tampons too i see you can get a free sample might be worth a look. Gotta love anything thats free. Interestingly does anyone else loathe the applicator tampon i used them once never again i just don't like them.

I'm a Mooncup girl.... at least I don't have to buy a new one when I have my baby, as I am having an elective c-section!
I've had my Mooncup for over 3 years now, and I have worked out I have saved myself over $700 in sanitary products (before I had to buy a packet of regular tampons, a packet of super tampons, a packet of pads for overnight use, and a packet of pantyliners all on a monthly basis).
I've never had any leaks with it, so have never had to buy reusable pads. I also make sure I have a bottle of water in my bag at all times when I use my Mooncup.
I had to order mine from the UK when I got it, but many health shops and organic supermarkets stock Mooncups.
So much better for the environment, and also a good indicator of how much flow you have as well.
The only bad thing I have heard about the Diva cup is that it can form a very high suction, so can be a bit harder to remove, if you are in a hurry!

I did that at first too. Though honestly....I'd rather handle a mooncup over one of Miss M's rank nappies anyday!!!!

Ah yes it is bigger that a tampon...it does look a little daunting to be honest...but you can't feel it when it's in properly.

OK so I got the diva cup and im sure most of you know how that ended. I have been looking at the moon cups and they have a longer plastic thingee to reach to pull out, so I have decided I might get one of those.

They are pretty easy to put in.... once it is in properly, you can't even feel at all.

I intend to get one once my period comes back this time around. I far prefer that to the idea of reusable pads. Not cos I think they are gross just cos I hate using pads of any sort.
I saw the winged tampon thing as well, very odd.

After all the conversation about these, guess what I got a free sample of in the mail today? Can't even remember filling out the form to get it.
AF's visiting at the moment, so I'll let you know what I think!
