My wee man is just learning to walk and is growing out of his soft soled shoo shoos, These have been great for the last few months cos he cant kick them off but now i am wondering if he needs something with more of a firmer sole on it.
I have read somewhere that barefeet when possible is the best but i would have thought they would need the support from the shoes. Am i wrong??? |

JMHO - Stick with no shoes or just socks for now, it gives their feet a chance to toughen up... Save the shoes for special occasions.

Yep bare feet is best- save the shoes for if he really needs them (like if you're going to be walking him on stony ground).
Something like this is ideal for out and about http://www.hoof.co.nz/unisex/charlie - Shoes but for round home just keep him in barefeet or the bobux type ones. It allows their feet to grow naturally and unrestricted, better for their balance and the growth of the foot. ------------- Jen, Charlotte 7 & Kate 3

Hi- I would definitely recommend staying with bobux or similar soft soled shoes, even outside. We had about 3 pairs for my son right up to about 18 months or so. hard sole shoes can be too heavy and hinder their walking I have found. , plus they just fall off their feet when they try to get up and down. ------------- ~~mommy to~~~ Candyce Chanel 15 Elijah Samuel Francois 5 Jacob Isaac Francois 3 + 4 babies in heaven |

Yep - no shoes unless you're going out on the footpath or something like that, in which case you should be able to bend the sole of his shoe in half with your hands. You can get rubber-soled shoes like that, the next step up from material-sole. -------------  |
