Hi friends
I just wanted to share my news with you, on Wednesday I was rushed to the doctors surgery with severe abdo pains. The staff there thought immediately that I was possibly having an ectopic pregnancy. They did a test and it was a faint positive, man the pain was incredible!!! I was hooked up to a drip and then taken to hospital by ambulance. Hubby stayed with me then shot home to sort the kids out and made his way to hospital. I had two urine hcg tests done at hospital which surprisingly came back negative so I had bloods done which seemed to take forever to come back. A gyne dr checked me over and said that if it was ectopic, I would be on the floor screaming. The pains subsided after 3hrs so that was a relief. Hubby was with me when another dr came in and said that my blood hcg levels were at 40 which was a definite positve pregnancy test but I had to come back for scan the following day. They let me go home thank goodness. Anyway, had scan on friday 21 Apr, couldn't see anything on it which wasn't good news or bad news so it came down to the bloods again which were taken prior to scan. If they doubled, then it was all good, if they stayed the same or dropped then, baby and tube were coming out. Good news came.............the dr said that my levels were up to 120 so they had tripled in two days. What a relief but I still need to have blood tests done for the next two fridays, then scanned again just to be sure everything is ok. So, baby is due on 28 Dec, but chances are it may be twins again, so who knows!!!!! I am so excited now, I'm pregnant yeah!!!!!!!!!!! |

Kasbee, my son Jack was a twin but I lost the other at 10 weeks gestation, so I've been told my chances are higher of conceiving twins again as they are on my side and DH's side and my age as well, I have higher chance again, will let u know after scan in 2-3 weeks time

Hi folks Just got word from the hospital that my scan is booked for friday 5 May. They want to see if I am in fact carrying twins (or triplets) as my hcg levels have skyrocketed!!!! So another full bladder (god I hate them) after yet another blood test( now I'm running out of fingers to count) and review to follow, so I will update again friday night and let u all know the good news!!! Ok Ok Ok I'm here now so here's the latest (and thanx for all the comments guys, u crack me up) Right, went for scan at hospital yesterday (man I should never have had those last 2 cups of water cos my bladder hurt like heck when she pushed on it). Anyway, the ultrasound wasn't quite producing the results we were looking for so she had to resort to the vaginal probe instead (thankfully she allowed me to go empty the bladder). Doing this procedure was so much clearer and after locating the sac and the yoke, we found............................................ just one healthy strong heartbeat. Vince (DH) was getting vibes that it was a girl's heartbeat - don't ask me how but that's wat he was getting. I was just so relieved that she found the baby after probing for wat seemed like ages, I was beginning to think that there was nothing there at all, so at this stage, there is only one baby. Jack and his twin weren't detected till 7 1/2 weeks so there's a chance that it may still be a little early to say but rest assured we definitely saw one with a very healthy heartbeat. That put my mind at ease then. So, that's it folks, should be having another scan at 12 weeks so we'll have another look then. Sorry to keep u all hanging for so long. Hugs, Gaye

Hey Emma Man that's freaky, cos at 6w 1d mine were 35,004 so I'm thinking we may just have twins there cos there ain't much difference in our levels. Thanks for letting me know that sort of info. mine were: 3w 6d:40, 4w 1d: 120, 5w 1d: 4622, now 6w 1d:35,004. AMAZING!!!!
