Hi Joyce, there are lots of daycare centres that will take babies from as young as 6 weeks. It's a good idea to go looking at different centres now as the good ones can have waiting lists in the order of a year long!

Not sure about costs, the centre we're booked into just put their prices up to $235 a week, but suspect that will vary wildly depending on where you are in the country.

Hi there
Whereabouts in NZ are you as prices do vary throughout the country.
A lot of centres will take babies from 6 weeks of age, as weegee said
here is a recent thread on http://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=20211&KW=childcare+options - childcare options

it discusses home-based care as well, which could be an option for you
Good luck!

Again, it depends where you are in the country, but you can try http://yellow.co.nz/search/new+zealand/Child+Care&Education-1.html - the yellow pages or http://www.finda.co.nz/business/c/child-care-education/ - finda as a good starting point!
