I am just going through a MC and am wanting to know what sort of time frames people have been given to start TTC again.
I just spoke to my midwife who has got me through all this and sh said wait 3 months.
She said she wasnt basing it on anything but gut feeling
I want to start right away, I have been trying for 3 years now and am getting impatient.
I would like to know if there is any medical reason to wait. If there is I guess I will wait.

My doc said wait a couple of months for emotional reasons. We didn't have any emotional stuff to work through so started straight away after my normal miscarriage

Our doctor said there was no reason why you couldn't start straight away as the body is very good at healing itself but he said it was better to wait one cycle which we did. Interesting that both times I've MC, I've waited one cycle and then got pregnant. Who knows what that means but it worked for me. Good luck

The doctor said providing we were ready emotionally, then we could start trying straight away :-)

Yep after natural m/c the doc said we could just carry on trying. We waited one cycle though so I was ready emotionally. Although I fell pregnant that cycle and wasn't quite as ready as I thought, but ok now, was just a really rough first 20 weeks.

We were also told no reason to wait. They recommend waiting for a period so they can accurately date the next preg though. A good idea if like me you go for scans and they say you are too small for dates etc, then you will know for sure how far along you are.

Big hugs Trying4No2 - I had a chemical pregnancy which is almost like never having been pregnant - bub never attached to the wall and I had a normal like AF. Midwife advised us to wait 2 months but I have decided against that as it's not medically necessary and we are emotionally ready to try again.

I really do think we are ready to start straight away. I have waited 3 years and got this far, I don't feel like giving up now.
I am one of these people who like to plan things out, and although it never happens, I like things to happen like I have set in my mind.
The ectopic was kind of alright because we were not expecting it and my due date was not so great (I know that sounds terrible but, we kinda freaked out a bit after 3 years). This last time however was fantastic, and we were so excited thinking it couldn't possibly happen again...could it?
So I guess I have had 1/2 sucess twice and feel back in control.

Trying4No2 sorry to hear your loss. When I had my D&C the specialist told us its preferable to wait one cycle so they can determine dates but said there was no reason to wait. When I went to see my GP for my post D&C check up he said I was all good and we could carry on as usual, we didnt need to wait.

Good luck hun. I hope your BFP is just around the corner

My husband and I asked the same question, and was told there is no medical reason why you can not start straight away and would not be harmful to the new bub if we did fall pregnant.

She did advice us to wait for 2 cycles, soley to track my periods again.

Good luck!!
