I was at National Womens Hospital in the delivery suite having some rather painful contractions...
My mum was there and my husband and my SIL. Think everyone else had left by that stage. The contractions were drug induced so i was bed ridden and being monitored.... Still a long way to go yet!

9.30... let me see. they were bumping up the syntocinin, getting to the upper limit... the visits by the three stooges (the team of docs who come in threes!) are getting more frequent and i am on my third (i think) midwife by now.

drugs have worn off... am fully dilated, three stooges come and declare "ventouse delivery needed". and its all on, the bed is pulled apart, carts wheeled in, stirrups attached to bed... OMG scary! two of the three stooges leave and one stays!

i do it every year!

he's here now...and the yuck, and the pain and the blood are all irrelevant. he came out with a push and a pull and my mum cut the cord.

i have a tear in my eye just thinking about it all.

awwww......

Every year the night before C's birthday I write her a letter, that always makes me cry ....

Its cool that you'll be able to tell him (if he ever asks) the story of his birth ....I dont think telling Caitlyn " i begged your grandmother to drown me and she refused " is what she wants to hear...but you have so much more detail , am v impressed

Five years ago I went up to National Womens to see little Gabriel who was about to get his Vitamin K injection. Mum was either almost in tears or actually in tears, I can't remember which. Gab slept through the whole thing. I think I gave him an orange tiger one piece outfit with a matching hat.

Happy birthday Gabriel!!!
