Subject: Sore bbs after ovulation??

I ovulated within the last week (had EWCM for 7 days) and am now on day 19 of my cycle.
My bbs are sooooo incredibly sore! It thought this was due to the normal progesterone surge post ovulation but made the mistake of googling it and got a pile of info about oestrogen dominance and peri-menopause. Lots of sites say it is not normal to have sore bbs after ovulation. Others say you get them during, not after.
Sore bbs are usually my first preggie symptom but it is clearly way too early for that this time.
Now I am confused. They are not usually sore like this. Anyone know the CORRECT answer to why they are so sore?
After the last 3 months of mid-cycle bleeding (which I didn't get this month YAY!) & my longer than usual cycle last month I'm a little confused (and paranoid) :) Because my cycles were always 28 days I knew I ovulated on day 14 but since last months was 31 I am confused by all these symptoms.

Maybe you are just reading too much into it. There's loads of reasons why they might be sore. It may just be a cycle thing, a preggy thing, an ovulation thing or your bra was on funny or you slept on them weird.

Oh dear! Poor you :)
Mine are definately hormonal but it is probably just normal due to the normal surge of hormones after Ovulation. I am pretty sure they used to get sore after ovulation before I had Elle. Back then I needed clomiphene to get preg so you can understand my uncertainty when those same symptoms return now.
We started TTC number 2 in Jan 2008 so it's been a long wait. We are just able to TTC again now after a 6 month ban post the partial molar pregnancy so I am feeling the pressure a little!

I just found this -premenstrual breast tenderness that occurs at the sides of the breast under the armpits suggests that ovulation has occurred during that cycle. If the breasts are sore up front and over the nipples, it tends to suggest high estrogen, or estrogen dominance, which can indicate a lack of ovulation. Soreness on the sides and the front may indicate that ovulation occurred but that not much progesterone was produced three or four days after ovulation, and thus estrogen dominance is occurring.
Lucky mine is definitely on the sides and underneath and not the nips. phew panic over.

You know what. Once I felt lumps in my boobs and they were sore. I was convinced I had cancer so called my gynae. She literally felt them (by then gone) and then started to speak about mucous and if they are stretchy ect and then started laughing. I was really confused and looked at her and Grant was baffled.
She told me straight I am not laughing at you but I am so so so happy right now. You are actually ovulating. Now this never ever happened to me before. And she told me if your boobs get slightly sore and have lumps that dissapear again after a few days that it is a sign of ovulation. Dont read too much on the internet, if need be go see a dr.
I was pregnant the very next cycle with McKayla(we had some problems before then where I was literally begging my gynae for drugs to help me get pregnant and she wanted me to try everything naturally first. I am so so so going to miss her in this pregnancy)

Mine are allll over. Under arms, tops, sides, middle. Because I always get them in early pregnancy I always assumed they were caused by progesterone as that surges during early pregnancy. Progesterone also surges after ovulation to prepare the body in case pregnancy occurs. Hopefully it is just that.

I hope so too. If you are still worried get a BT test done to put your mind at ease. I have also googled it and most of it is not fact but just opinions. Try not too read into it too much especially if your bbs felt that way when you got pg last time. Good luck for Jan.
