DH is looking at getting me a new camera for christmas. Im pretty excited. I do have an alright camera at the moment so if I am going to get one I want it to be a lot better than the one I have. I love taking photos and would really love to be able to get into it more. I just dont really know where to start. I want something that isnt too complicated but still takes great shots indoors and out, day or night.
What sort of things should I be looking for in a good camera? What are some good cameras to look out for? TIA -------------

HIGHLY recommend the one we just got, it takes videos with sound and awesome photo quality. It's 8 megapixels and 4 x zoom. Canon A580 is the model. $199 at DSE atm, and when I got it last week it came with a free camera bag and 2GB card.
Highly recommend Canon digi cams ...wouldn't personally buy any other brand myself. Good luck

I've got my eye on a Nikon D60 DSLR...tons of features...I have something similar in a film camera (Nikon "F" something) and found the features really well set out and easy to use

SLR takes the photo instatly, you know that delay you get with digital cameras? You dont get that with SLR.
