Oh dear

Its like they bought it in 1972 and never ever bought anything new from that point on! Maybe they've been hiding in an underground basement like that movie 'Blast from the Past'??
They want 870k! You'd have to spend another 100k on it just getting it vaguely presentable and theres NO WAY after that it would be an almost million dollar house. Urgh the cork tiles, the Formica work surfaces... shudder

lol Id buy it heck its spacious and big.. I would far rather live in a dated nice spacious house than a smaller house with modern decor.

you can always change the carpet and wallpaper...lot harder to change the structure of a house.

just a pity it's not in Hamilton and well out of our price range

So ugly and pristine.....but soooooooooooooooo much potential!!! I would love to get my hands on a house like that and bring it into the 21st century......just look at the space!!!

How on earth could you keep such furniture in pristine condition after 30 years though....wow.

I agree, the potential is amazing and the amount of space is stunning. I'd say it is worth the money.

The bathroom was my fav bit, the pink was just hmmmm.. yummy!

Loads of potental though. And it does say never been on the market before. Looks very well cared for so yep, cosmetic changes are probably all that is needed!

And what is wrong with cork tiles?! I have them in my kitchen and bathroom (and my house is modern!) but I love them!!! They are so warm to walk on even in winter!

They could film 'That 70's Show' just from that house! What a laugh! It looks like it's in fantastic condition and the potential... well, where would you start?! The price is relatively average for that area. All around that area are million dollar homes!

Now that house is an interior designers dream!!! Heaps and heaps of potential!!! Those lovely big rooms!!! Every pic I was going " ohh I could do that, that and that in there" LOL

Don't know much about the house prices in that area but it does seem like a lot - yes it's in immaculate condition considering the age of everything but I think it's too retro for even the most keen retro fans

Now if only I could get a house with those sort of bones for less than half that price in AKL I'd be in heaven...literally because I'd be dreaming hahaha

It is amazing, the condition is immaculate. With it being in such good nick it only needs surface stuff done.

Curious G I quite like cork tiles, mum and dad have them and they are warm and most things bounce!

It totally looks like it had been in time warp!

edited for typos

That would be so awesome to renovate..I'd love a big house like that.

As for the furniture being in such great condition...I wonder if they took the plastic covers off the couches for the purpose of the photos?

Sorry guys- didn't mean to offend the cork tilers out there!
I like the modern cork tiles they have now but those ones just aren't my cup of tea- that games room looks like a old rugby club rooms to me

I liked it!!!! Not only is it huge, its quirky but not tacky.  Its really well done and looked after.  Dont know if I could live with that style forever and none of our furniture would work but I think the house rocks!

OMG - it's HUGE and yet so....out dated? WHY??? lol

We had that dining room set when I was growing up... LOL
(with the metal legged table and metal backed chairs - not the huge wooden one)

I loved it ! tho I would do a huuuuge overhall and get rid of some of that orange and brown ..and green and mustard yellow .

But look how HUGE it is! all that space , and check out the rumpus room , perfect for parties (perhaps they hold "key" parties down there ....)

Its in a good location, and first time on the market since being built. So much potential, I rather have dated decor, than budget paint and paper people do in order to sell.
Laughed at the chairs in the pool room, we had those when we were kids.

Wow what a home with so much potential. There are alot of houses around that are still stuck in the 70s so its not that unsual i have seen a few. I can't believe how much room it has the only probs that it may have poor or lack of insulation. Otherwise it looks good but i guessif you were going to buy it you would get at least a lIm as well as a builders report anyway.

I agree - it's in immaculate condition and so retro that it's funky. I hope whoever buys it doesn't rip everything out and completely modernise it - it needs undating but some of the features should be kept.

What a cool house - I could picture the Brady Bunch living there! And that bar with the padded orange vinyl thing - far out. Would be a fantastic house with teenagers. Wouldn't take too much to fix up.

YOU WOULDN'T KNOW IT EXISTED

Nestled down a tree lined driveway in the centre of Lower Hutt, you will find this home of huge proportions, infact 430m2 of real family enjoyment. With true entertainers size living areas which consist of formal living, formal dining room, TV room, rumpus & home office and yes four bedrooms and two bathrooms. An absolute dream home of proportions to appeal to a large or extended family who want privacy away from street view. A solid, well built home true to its location being offered for the first time since being built.

There you go , it hasnt been sold since it was built (in 1960 )
