Hi All
I have a few small worries, and I am just hoping you will all tell me it is normal and that I am being silly (WHICH I PROBABLY AM!) 1. Havent felt baby move yet - ok maybe thats not too bad, maybe I am just a late starter 2. Havign different sorts of tummy pains in the past 2 weeks - mostly cramps but today I feel a few stabbling type pains, not severe or anything but not nice, mostly in the exact same spot (well the one pain came at about lunch time and was there for about 10 seconds and now is back for a few more little stabs but isnt constant) 3. My belly hasnt popped - I mean i have a fat layer (nice!) but nothin rounded or coming out - I hope baby is growing in there I sure am eatign a lot to try and help it along) 4. I have been feeling nausious off and on, i know morning sickness can come back but... None of these things on their own would usually worry me i guess it's just all of them together - i have my midwifes appt on Tuesday next week so hopefully she will tell me all is ok then, but i dont want to ring her for every silly little hunch I have... I feel so stupid I know I am being paranoid but it doesnt stop me from worrying - aaaahhhhhhh I am a crazy lady with these hormones, I hate it! Things are most likely ok arent they? 1- i never felt james move till i was 20 weeks and big kicks at 30 so u have plenty of time
2-if u are worried ring your midwife thats why shes there 3-some people stay relly small and some get huge (like me) its all normal 4- oh no not moring sickness

Hey there, first babies usually start moving around the 20 week mark, it will feel like flitters/flutters to start off with then they slowly progress into kicks. I wouldn't start to panic just yet hun, u may actually be getting the flitters now but u don't realise it. Morning sickness, I hate to say, can stay right throughout pregnancy, some woman are just unfortunate to have this happen to them. If you're concerned about the pains or they get worse, call the midwife. Your belly should start to pop out soon, don't panic too much. From here on, start taking belly pics for each month eg. 5mths, 6mths etc and measure the tummy around if u want to see if it is growing, but do this weekly (I did with my first child). You're not paranoid, ur at that unsure stage as u have nothing to compare it too. Best wishes, Gaye hope this helps!!!! ------------- Gaye

i'm not too far behind you and also haven't felt bubs move yet. i also get stabbing pains, in the lower belly on the same side, usually when i get up too quickly or when i roll from one side to the other at night. my belly is just starting to feel hard under the fat, but i'm still feeling fat rather than preggy. you may not be popping out yet, but when you push down lightly, does it feel harder? with jack, i felt him move at 17wks and i didn't really show until i was about 24-25wks. if you are really worried sweets i'd call your midwife even just to have a chat about how your feeling.  ------------- http://www.alternatickers.com">

1. It's fairly normal not to feel Bubs moving until closer to 22 weeks, first time round.
2. I've been having stabbing pains too... my hubby and I think its a combination of baby sitting on a nerve, and a partially full bladder. 3. First time round, it's not unusual not to show for a while! I didn't even know I was pregnant with Kiya until I was 18-20 weeks, and didn't really look pregnant for another couple of weeks. 4. Thanks to you all! I feel better now, I knwo it's all silly but it's good to hear that these things are normal from actual people cos with websites and books they are all so vague it's hard ot know exactly when to expect some things to happen or not happen!

I had the most chronic tummy pains yesterday, similar to what you described. They were so bad I had to crawl out of the car. Poor old Maya didn't know what was going on. But it was just good old wind - once I managed to get it out I felt muuuuuch better! -------------  Maya Grace (28/02/03)

I had some bad achey twingey feelings in my abdomen yesterday, that made me sit down. Had my mw appointment that afternoon, she said its my uterus telling me to sit down and relax for a bit! and stopping you from "overdoing" things. I was only doing housework ------------- Aimee Ella - 5.5 years old! Toby - nearly 3 years old!

Mrs Frantic... don't worry about the movement stuff... while we might say we felt babe move at around "X weeks" more often than not it is in hindsight that we realised it was babe moving.
I started feeling babe move around 17 weeks but didn't figure out it was actually that until around 19-20 weeks. I started looking more preggo than 'beer belly' around 23 weeks... soon enough you'll be on here to post about being too big to move!!
But all normal things to worry about as well... we like to reassure you and tell our own stories
