I see theres some big deal at Warehouse this week, something like $50 off the new Elmo Live. Lucas goes nuts when he sees them in the shop and insists on playing with it, I'm contemplating buying it for his Xmas since I've had lots of luck with TM sales lately...
But are they seriously worth $100???
Does anyone here have one for their little tike? Is it's features really limited?

Yeah I agree kiwigal I'd never usually spend that much on a toy, can't justify it really.
Lucas absolutely adores Elmo though, I think about his face lighting up when he opens it at Xmas ....maybe ill sell some of his toys he no longer plays with ...to help pay myself back hmm

We had the TMX elmo and that was $100 originally. neosha absolutely HATES it though.
DF's boss got one for his grandaughter though (the live one) when the first came out and paid the $150 for it too, he said it was worth every penny and doesn't seem like it repeats much... so it must have quite a bit of vocab? He said the jokes were really neat and the actions were cool and he has just purchased another one to said to the new grand baby born 2 weeks ago in Wellington LOL.
If Lucas loves it that much get it for him, its a good deal ATM. Also I don't think $100 is that bad for a toy.... but that's just me.

My little sister has one, and while they're cool, the novelty wears off pretty quickly.
I find it pretty noisy too, you can hear all the mechanics working which I find pretty creepy. Haha, but they're cute.
It sneezes, sits down and stands back up, goes into sleep mode after it's been left for x-amount of time...
But like I say, the novelty does wear off.
My sister just turned two, and she got it for her birthday... 3 weeks later it's not as interesting as it was the first few days.
Seems a lot of money to spend for a weeks worth of entertainment. (Having said that, that's just her, Lucas might not be the same.)

I saw them but thought OMG so expensive for one toy. I would rather buy a heck load of awesome cheap toys that will last more than 5 mins, but that's just me.

If he loves it in the shop, and its down to $50 then I would get it. Isla still LOVES her talking/moving iggle piggle we got her for her 1st birthday (she was 2 last month). She plays with it every day, he even had hair ties in his 4 strands of hair the other day, lol. We paid $60 and he doesnt do anything compared to what that Elmo does. Would not pay $150 for the Elmo,..but would consider it if it was iggle piggle or dora or soemthing isla loves.

Caleb plays with them a bit in the shops but they aren't cuddly and they are pretty heavy so I can't see it getting much use hence I won't get him one.
I agree with Kellz, if Lucas loves them in the shops then he'll probably play with it a lot at home and at half price its probably worth it.

It's down to $94, or something like that... $50 off.
Gah! I couldn't imagine spending that on a TOY...
A playhouse or swingset, maybe... But not one toy.
And as Jaz said, they are quite heavy and they aren't at all cuddly. It's like a robot covered in fur

Oh opps I read wrong! Ok $100 is a lot for a toy, but Isla's iggle piggle is really hard and heavy too, and she has LOVED it for a year!
Edited for my bad spelling!

I don't know what kind of kid Lucas is but no talking toy would keep either of mine entertained for long I would spend that money on a ride on, books or blocks they are the only things in our house that have been worth buying.

Yeah I'm not entirely convinced about spending that much for it still, I think I'm best to save my $$$. Maybe just buy a cheap singing/dancing Xmas soft toy from the warehouse.

We got the TMX elmo for caide when he was two and it scared the crap out of him the way it threw itself on the floor and its scary laugh haha... It ended up being packed away. Although this year he is interested in the new elmo.. But i dont think i'll bother buying it, Those sorts of toys last 5mins with my boy.

awww, i want one! i LOVE Elmo, hes soooo cute !
Caitlyn (read -Kelly ) has the original tickle me Elmo, and a jumbo tickle me Elmo, which is bigger than her
I would buy it , but thats because I think hes adorable and would still find him entertaining long after my kids get bored of him ....
btw , do you know who this is ?
THAT, is Kevin Clash ,the man who does Elmo's voice.
*sigh* I heart the muppets, Jim Henson , was such an amazing man , and did such amazing things.....

I'd leave it for him to just play with in the stores. Thats a lot of money to spend on one toy for a little man, especially when you have other goals at the moment
What about just normal Elmo?

James is exactly the same apart from the Hairties lol but he does take it to bed with him
If you want to see this on Xmas I say get it sorry the photo doesn't really do the monet justice. But do agree with the others that $100 is alot to spend on one toy. Maybe your parents could put in for it so then you could get him a few other things aswell.

Hey
Just thought id say, my manager has a elmo live at work, man he is COOL
He does heaps! He says heaps. My manager has had him for 2 weeks, and hes still saying new stuff!
He dances, sings, tells heaps of jokes, says cool stuff! Goes on about how much he loves you, and tells stories.

Sam adores Elmo as well. Everytime we leave a store with him in it she goes beserk!
I am thinking about getting on for her 2nd birthday - hoping to get it at the Boxing day sales though as I would rather get it for 1/2 price
