My poor wee man has been in Whangarei hospital with a UTI and managed to also catch the rotavirus there! (gastro bug) he was in hospital for a few days with that too.
Its now been day 6 of diarrhea and I know all the signs to watch out for for dehydration and am giving him pedylite as well as his formula...was wondering when is it going to stop!!!
how long as it lasted for other peoples bubs
and has anyone tried the novalac diarrhea formula that you can get from the chemist? thinking of trying this since its the same brand as his reflux formula...
hopefully the end has to be in sight!

Swapping the formula might be a good idea for bit as when Spencer had rotovirus the gp said it was good he was on neocate as they can become lactose intolerant when ill and that can make it worse/linger longer. The diarrhea formula is probably lactose free or at least made up slightly differently to the standard formulas. It wouldn't hurt to talk to the chemist about it as well.
From memory Spencer stopped vomitting after about 3 days and then his bum cleared up after about a week. Because he had stopped eating though his poo kind of changed from diahrrea to then being like newborn poo for a bit before he started eating properly again.
Hope that helps a little and hope he is feeling better soon.
Edited cos I was typing like a moron.

My wee boy had it for at least a week. The vomiting only two days but the rest lasted for a lot longer. It isn't much fun. Hope you are clear of it really soon.

My Dr told me that 10 days to 2 weeks was normal with Rotovirus.
Hope he comes right soon, Benjy was absolutely miserable when he got it.

McKayla: First time she had it was about 2 weeks.
This time around she had it also for 2 weeks but was a lot better. Only went to the dr towards the end and then it was diagnosed. At least she wasnt throwing up ect as well.
