So has anyone had a go at looking up their house/workplace in google streetview yet? It has gone live (NZ ver) now so you can explore the streets from the comfort of your own home.
I must admit I find it kind of creepy just thinking about anyone who knows my address, looking it up and gawking at my house. I think the pics are all still images that were taken over the past 12 months rather than real-time shots. I know the photo of my house was taken sometime between Feb-Apr judging by my ex-flatemates car in the driveway. -------------

Mine's there - but we live at the bottom of a shared driveway, so the front neighbour's house is obscuring ours - which is fine by me!

Haha, we're the back flat so you can't see us, but you can see our driveway, mailbox and my car parked out on the street.

Ok, so I've had a bit more of a play (looking up relatives houses).
I think it's a brilliant resource - especially for those looking at property from out of town, so they can check out their prospective neighbours houses, street layout, etc, without having to make a special trip. -------------

I think I have past that stage of finding it just plain creepy and agree it can be useful when looking at real estate prospects as well as general driving directions. Also, great for e-stalking. |

Yeah I thought it was a lil creepy to start with, but we're currently sourcing out a place to rent and I think it will be fantastic for sussing out the good areas from the crap ones iykwim. |

Our house is slightly down a hill from the roadside and we have a hedge, so can only see our roof. I'm glad they took the photo when the hedge was trimmed!

Heehee .. I was showing DH and he was wondering who "stole" our car cause it's not outside ..
Then he realised it was not in real time lol Oh and its quite a good shot of this house .. and an awesome shot of the one we move into on Friday. Found our place, was taken about 8 months ago when we had the old house on the market cos the for sale sign is up at the top of the drive, I wasn't home tho, no cars in the drive! -------------

My house isn't on there. Not surprising, seeing as its brand new and we only moved in a couple of weeks ago lol! But I tried our old place and it looks like Cambridge hasn't been done yet. Yup my place is there, full frontal view. Car parked in the drive so someone was home lol. And would have been taken sometime between March and June Im`guessing cos the trees in the front are gone but the climbing plants are still there....but now IRL are gone. No Whakatane pics so cant see my olds place yet -------------

This is so funny! My Mum looked her house up and she must have been away when they took the photo as the neighbours cars are parked in her driveway

I have just had to complain about our house in Palmy. We had a sign up that had firewood for sale and you can make out our phone number even thou they have slightly blurred it. But apart from that it is cool. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |
