My brother is getting married at the start of Jan & I will be a delightful 37 weeks pregnant.
WHAT am I going to wear.
I looked at Egg & don't overly like the dresses, they seem to fussy, but will go into the shop to have a look.
Any other ideas of where to look.
The wedding is in Auckland & on a BOAT!

I'd be a small medium. I have PP pants in M which are a little to big.
I have a small bump as well.

There's a beautiful navy dress in PP atm which would so appropriate for a boat wedding.

Also JK has really plain simple black dresses that look goor with funky shoes and jewellery.
I got one for a a ball I went to a 28 weeks and also wore it to a wedding I went to at 36weeks.
I love black with bright shoes and jewellery. i think I paid about $30 for it in their sale.

I looked in the PN PP shop last week & there wasn't anything there I wonder if I say that I saw something on the website they'd get it in for me to try on?
1/2 my problems is I'm really fussy & don't like V necks
I'll probably end up getting something in the few days before the wedding!!

What about if you wear your most comfy outfit and just stick a photo on the front and back of you in a nice outfit pre-pregnancy (or a dress you would wear if not pregnant) and say on the sign - if "I wasn't 37 weeks pregnant, I'd be wearing this", seriously, who's going to mess with the emotional state of a heavily pregnant woman
You could wait closer to the Jan date, when all the sales are on, and depending how big your bump is and your breasts, you may be able to buy a pretty non pregnancy dress in a larger size. Those Roman style (Empress line?) dresses seam all the rage at the moment and would look much more fetching on a pregnant woman then an those stick figures.

Hey aliasmum I just went to a wedding on the weekend I actually wore a pre preggy dress but wrap around style so comfy and did the job!
I reckon ya can't go wrong with a dress :) Oh and maybe some tights underneath if you're on a boat - don't want a gust of wind and your dress coming up around your hips hehe :)

How handy are you? Do you have access to a sewing machine or overlocker? I've just whipped up http://rowena.typepad.com/rostitchery/infinity-dress.html - this dress - so easy, only one seam, and can be worn literally dozens of ways! You'd have to make it so that instead of your waist measurement you used your underbust measurement for the band, and make the skirt long enough to cover the bump.
(Once I've hemmed it I'll get DH to take a pic so I can post it for ya)

Wow Weegee what a fab dress! Love how you can wear it different ways.
Aliasmum I wore my pre preg clothes all the way through my pregnancy, and I got a lovely dress from Supre for my birthday dinner at 38wks. Also bought a couple of dresses from Jay Jays, good thing is they still look good after bubs too. Have you checked out maxi dresses as Mel suggested? They tend to be really flattering without sticking to every curve IYKWIM

I had a wedding to go to last year while pregnant - and I bought the Egg Basics Pleated Black dress and have been SO happy with it - and have had loads of comments on it. It is so comfortable to wear, slimming, and have worn it both pregnant and since I have had my baby - it is one of those pieces that you can do so - and that way I can get heaps of wear out of it. Looks fantastic in the winter with a longsleeve top underneath, tights and boots.
I am planning to wear it to a wedding again in March with a stunning black hat.
Good luck with finding the right dress for you! http://www.eggmaternity.co.nz/index.cfm?action=detail&cid=4&cnid=&tid=&pid=143 - Egg dress

I Love your idea TraceyA!! But i'd take a picture of a model who I'd like to look like
WeeGee that dress is awesome...If in doubt I can do that!!!
Thanks heaps for the suggestions, I didn't even think of Just Jeans or Jacki E. I'd been around town with Mum & most of the dresses we saw just wouldn't have got near me, fabrics all to stiff
I'm pretty small...you can see my 31 week bump in the photo pages, but tall, so I have to try stuff on otherwise it can end up to short.
I had bought a great stretchy dress which has now ended being to short for the wedding which is why I've had to go and get something else, but we have a luncheon the next day so I can show my legs off then

I bought a dress from ezibuy last weekend for my Xmas function and they had a lot of stretch stuff in store. They had quite a good sale on too. A dress will be nice and breezy too at that time of year.

I have a dress I am trying to sell if you are interested at all...
I wore it as a bridesmaid at 6 months pg...but I had a pretty large bump!
Its strapless black a-line cocktail style. There is also an orange tie that was supposed to go around the waist...but went under the bust in my case.
Its made out of dupion silk...
Let me know and I can send some pics

I have a wedding to go to today! and i was looking for a dress everywhere to no avail (im a pre-preggy 16-18, large bust lol) HOWEVER i have found this goergous top. Wore it to my work do last night and had many compliments and the best thing about it is that its a wrap around style so doesnt matter how big your bump gets as it has long ties. Also looks like its going to be great post pregnancy as a breastfeeding top. I wore it with a skirt last night and will be wearing it with some jean type material 3/4 pants today with some dressy shoes (im doing the photography so a skirt kind of not appropiate.
Now heres the link and im sure it will be messy so if someone can fix it would be greatly appreciate (one thing ive never mastered )

Thanks for your suggestions everyone.
Got the Ezibuy catelogue today...there is some dresses in there which I reckon preggy's can wear.
I ended up getting the PP dress. Mum was with me & showed me I didnt quite have it on right so once she adjusted it was even more comfy & looked really nice, Heaps of room so no worry of outgrowing it. Mum has bought me the dress & I bought myself a nice pair of hush puppy sandles which are So comfy.
Might get a dress from Ezibuy for the summer...my daughter & her skirt fettish is rubbing off on me...The tomboy has changed!!
