Has anyone been?

Everyone I speak about it to has never heard of it, lol! I'm picking my dad up from the airport on Friday and thought we'd leave early from Whangarei and go to butterfly creek with DD for the morning/lunchtime then pick him up for about 2pm.
Saves us doing a huge car journey in one sitting which isn't fun being 7 months pregnant and with a toddler.

So just wondered whats it's like and what sort of stuff is there to do?

I love butterfly creek. They have the butterfly part - obviously

But they also have a little train thing (i didnt think that was worth the money), there is also a little farm, where you can pet the animals... rabbits, guinea pigs, goats etc. My little girl loves the farm part.

There is also a playground for the kids and a good cafe for the adults.

Hi pomikiwi In the stickied 'Child Friendly Outings' thread under 'Product Reviews' a few people talk about Butterfly Creek. Personally I've been with a friend's kids and it was great, but I thought a little bit pricey (others disagree with me, though!).

OT, but Kicker, your avatar always makes me want to squish my monitor!

We went there about 2 weeks ago! What a neat place and well worth the visit!

As for the cafe the service is shocking, but if you don't mind bad service, its a nice day out

Thanks weegee I'll have a look.

I wanted to go to the zoo but we wont have enough time to get round it all and get to the airport in time for dads flight coming in.

Sounds like a cool place though.

LOL me four, and I too can't blame the preggy brain! Duh

I think Butterfly Creek is wicked, but yes a lil overpriced and the food is yummy but service at cafe is shocking, the service at the gift shop/where you purchase tickets is fantastic though! I think if you haven't been before its much more exciting too
