I've never baked in my life but have been making these lately - they're easy to make and they're YUMMY!
Method says to use a mixer but I beat it all by hand and they turn out just fine.

INGREDIENTS
170g unsalted butter
105g light brown sugar
100g granulated white sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla essence
185g peanut butter (crunchy is best )
280g plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
100g chocolate chips

METHOD
Preheat oven to 350F / 180C.

In the bowl of your electric mixer (or with a hand mixer) cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
Beat in the peanut butter.
Add the egg and vanilla essence and beat to combine.
In a seperate bowl whick together the flour and backing powder. Add to the peanut butter mixture and beat until incorporated.
Fold in the chocolate chips.

Roll the mixture into 1 inch balls and place on baking sheets about 2 inches apart. Make a criss-cross pattern on the top of each one with a fork.

Bake for about 10-12 minutes.

Remove, allow to cool, and ENJOY!!

I've just made these, haven't tasted the finished product yet but I'm sure they will be great! (The raw dough was yummy anyway )

Anyway a quirk of mine is that I hate weighing things, so converted the measurements (except the butter cos I use the little lines on the paper!). If anyone is like me and prefers to use cup measures, here's the (roughly) converted ingredient list:

170g unsalted butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla essence
2/3 cup peanut butter
2 1/4 cups plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup chocolate chips

They're yum! They were a little puffier than I expected them to be, but on closer inspection of the recipe that's cos I accidentally doubled the baking powder...
