to take a jar of baby food on an international flight? 
The jar is 110g and I thought the personal limit for each passenger is 100ml?? I am hoping there is a knowledgable traveller with kids who can inform me of this! thanks  -------------  Mum to Hayley **30.6.08

Yep! Baby food and formula / milk is exempt, you just have to make sure you declare it / point it out to the screening officers on your way through the security checkpoint. ------------- Mama to two earth walkers & two angels. I had jars of it in my carry on and in my main bag and they never even asked to look at it i just made sure i declared it and then when they scanned the bags they knew what they were looking at and didnt need me to open them up. I had them still sealed getting onto the flight because i thought if they had been opened i would be allow the food but they never even checked.
They are really good about kids stuff id had 2 bottles with water in them for formula and a bottle of juice and they were happy with that even tho they say you can only carry enough for the flight on the website (we had were going to brisbane and i needed the extra for the drive to surfers and the waiting around in customs) I know America can be a lot more suspicious of you tho so if you are heading there you might be asked to taste it. Enjoy the flight and ask for strollers if they dont offer you one - so much easier!!! -------------

yes and it depends where your going as to how you get on too...if its not sealed you will get asked to try it same with milk (gross) if you fly emirates they give you a bag full of all that kinda stuff on there so you dont need to take anything ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">

I've been told that I can take all the food / formula I need on the flights. (AirNZ and Lufthansa) Once they're opened I can't take them off the plane which is fair enough.

They never asked us to taste any of our DDs stuff either in NZ, Aus or Canada and it was either in a bottle or sippy cup. ------------- Mama to two earth walkers & two angels. I flew Pacific Blue a few months ago. I told them what I had for the boys and they just asked me to put it in their plastic bags and have it out so when you went through they knew what you had for the kids. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |

Yeah you can but it is expensive. If you go through security early once you are through you can buy stuff to take on the plance through there. I go me a bottle of coke and some chippies and there was no problem with them. ------------- I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived! |
