OMG OMG OMG
Just had a call from DS's paediatrician and after 7 days in NICU, he should be coming home TOMORROW. Wow, I am so so so excited, I can't believe he will be here soon!!!
Also a little bit (OK, maybe a lot) nervous.. worried we don't have everything sorted and that I'm not going to know what to do .. he's so teeny! But really I can't wait till it's just DH and I working it out for ourselves.
Yippeeeeeee!!!

I was in your shoes a 2 years ago, we were told today that we could take Fay home tomorrow after 10 days in neonates. It will fall into place when you get home. i sent everyone out of the house and spent 2 hours alone with Fay, I undressed her and just spent ages looking at her, it was the first alone time i had managed to get at all. My best memories of her early days.
Have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy making up for all the time in hospital

That's so exciting! Soon you'll have your little baby all to yourself.
It's perfectly normal to be nervous too, whether you're taking home a premmie or a full term baby it's all a bit new and scary and these babies don't come with a manual but amazingly you already instinctively know what to do and when you're not sure or you're second guessing yourself that's when we'll come in handy.
All the best for tomorrow and all the days that follow (what a fabulous early Christmas gift).

That's awesome! I know how excited and then totally nervous I was when we got to bring Blake home after 2 weeks in SCBU. You will be absolutely fine, and it's such an amazing thing to walk in the door with an extra member of the family I was also a bit intimidated by all the nurses and midwives at the hospital because they all knew what to do so well (as they should!) and I felt like I knew nothing, but being at home with no one watching over my shoulder I was so much more relaxed and happy.
Enoy your wee man and have a great family Christmas!

Thanks so much!
It's actually starting to sink in a bit now: was great to go to the hospital this morning knowing Callum only has one night to go and the nurses are so excited for us, it's really sweet. Just about to head back for what will *hopefully* be our final feed in the NICU.
I've just finished washing the few small things we have (you wouldn't believe how hard it's been to find preemie sized clothes here!?!), put the sheets on his moses basket and tidied up the nursery - even though Callum will be in with us for the first wee while
Thanks so much for all the warm fuzzies, you've totally made my day
Oh - and BooBoo, he was 8 weeks early exactly!
