that's strange, i'd have thought they'd subsidise a lot more than that. when my friend's son was in childcare she only had to pay around $3 an hour i think. definitely enquire more and make sure you're getting all you're entitled to.

Subsidy is a maximum of 9 hours if you're not working (or if you're working less than 9 hours). Maximum subsidy is $3.51 per hour...so if you were getting that x9 hours it's around $30 off. So that sounds right.

$120 for two days sounds quite expensive for round here but it depends what area you're in? (Auckland/Wellington cost more than smaller places generally).

$60 seems pretty reasonable if you are in Auckland. The ones Ive looked at are $70+

The one that Tom is enrolled in (and we probably wont take up) is $35 per 6 hour session.  so would be $70.  $120 sounds REALLY expensive

Yeah as someone said you get around $3 an hour for 9 hours until you are working (or studying) for more than 9 hours. So you would get more subidised when you started working more but it still not that much and that place works out to be quite expensive and so you would still be paying around $5 an hour after the subsidy.
