Ok so I'm going to suck it up and take the boy for his first haircut, was waiting for Mum to have hers done and I noticed them pampering a little guy whilst trying to cut his hair ...not sure if lucas will be as calm or still as he was. Can just see him losing an ear or something crazy because he's so hyper and funny around strange people. Is there anyway I can get around this?
How much do they charge(if at all, im sure someone mentioned their first cut was free)?...and any advice on how to keep him still long enough for them to give him a decent cut?
TIA

Gina had her first haircut today - yey! And it looks gorgeous.
Wasn't free but at $14 wasn't too bad either and that included a blow dry and a lolly at the end.
Gina sat at daddy's lap the whole time and was much calmer than I expected. I think she enjoyed the novelty of the experience but I'm so proud she handled it so well. I'd say just take him and see what happens - you might be surprised how well he does. Good luck
ETA: our wasn't at first cuts or at Botany

Ohh I didn't think about sitting on my lap ....thats a great idea. Definitely should make the process a lil easier ...and Gina is around the same age as my boy! (give or take a month?)

Tom sat on my knee and I bought one of his hairy maclary books to read him. As it was he was happy to play with a comb while she cut him. EASY!!! all over in 5 min and we were only charged $5 but thats small towns for ya.

Definitely ask first, because most Just Cuts are free, but it seems some are charging.
We went to the one in Albany and it was free.
They put a dvd in and she sat on the seat by herself, wearing a little wiggles cape. Cute! I was quite impressed

Go during the week as it's free if first cut or $13 i think but if you go on the weekend it's $25. we didn't go to just cutz too expensive on a sturday!!
We went to a hairdressers in manukau it was $12 and they did an excellent job! Luke sat on my knee and did so well. I took food and his favourite books too.
Good Luck
never been to just cutz in botany so don't know if it's good or not.
