I know it's not very creative thinking on my part but I've always liked the name Aroha for a girl, it's such a beautiful name with a beautiful meaning.

My boy's middle name is Tikihana.

I knew a Te Awhina a while back, which I think is really pretty. She had a heck of a time getting people to pronounce it right tho!

Girls
Anahera - Angel
Roimata - Tear drop
Pania - a mythical maiden of the sea
Hinewai - Water maiden
Arataki - to lead

Boys

Tongaroa - God of the sea

could you talk to your husbands family and maybe get a 'family'/whanau name?
My boys were both given their names from their great grandparents, so they are VERY meaningful. Of course they are also very STRONG names, and it was actually pretty overwhelming for them to be given them , because with the name comes expectations, responsibility etc.
My boys are Te Whiti O Rongomai, and Tohu Kakahi. (named after their Tupuna).
I think it's very very special though when their name is linked to their whanau, something to also remind them of their history....
all the best!!
