I am trying to be organised and get everything for bubs before she arrives and while we have got 2 salaries.
Do you need a sleeping bag for the buggy? We have a mountain buggy and they sell sleeping bags to go with them... they aren't too cheap so wondered if they were really needed. ------------- Mummy to Eva born 11 Feburary 2009 and Charlotte born 18 April 2011 |

We were lucky enough to have Mum make the girls these big beautiful woolen shawls which we would wrap the girls in. They were great for the winter but considering the weather at the mo I'm sure just a snuggly blanket over bubs would be fine. I wouldn't panic, the stores try to sell you everything under the sun but half the stuff you buy when pregnant you never end up using!
We got given so many little baby blankets so if you have plenty of those you should be fine. -------------

We have something similar to this
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Baby-gear/Prams-strollers/Accessories/Liners-sleeping-bags/auction-195195192.htm - buggy blanket We got given it second hand and I found it really good, and I'm sure a lot cheaper than the other 'branded' varieties. It is useful for later on (when it's colder) as bubs can't kick it off, it can't fall off, and it can't get 'forgotten'. Plus it looks nice and snuggly when it's cold outside. We found it really handy for our wriggly boy, but I don't think you'll need to get one til bubs is older. And if you know someone handy with a sewing machine (or if you are) I don't think it would be too hard to make one yourself to fit your buggy. We ALWAYS use ours. We have a silly billyz one we use in winter and an outlook one which we remove the sheepskin layer for summer.

Oh and for womble we got the phil and teds one to match our new pram lol

We have a bugaboo and there's a sleeping bag (foot muff) that's optional - we found it very handy in winter as it keeps bub nice & warm & snug. Wouldn't use it in summer - too hot.

We have used our heaps - infact we have a bigger one for Amy now and Sophie has the p&t one that we bought when Amy was tiny, but we live in Wellington and have a dog that needs a lot of walking so the sleeping bags mean that we can go out in ALL weather  .
Julia - is that the cocoon for the p&t? We had one for Amy and then Sophie used it - they are great, so useful. Then new ones are even better (the sides are stiffer so it holds the shape like a carry cot). I have quite a few friends that have used them for baby to sleep in overnight when they have gone away for the weekend. -------------

Yep we bought the Vibe so we bought the matching cocoon so that we can feed womble into the newborn part whilst Issy is sitting above. Hopefully it will mean that when we take womble out it will keep sleeping when we get in. ------------- Mummy to Issy (3) and Elias (18 months) I did it .. 41 kgs gone! | We didnt get one and I havent really missed it. I just used blankets to wrap around and tuck him in when it was cold. Even now as a wriggly toddler a blanket tucked over him NEVER gets kicked off. I also used his winter sleep sack at one point. |

Nah - if it's cold they'll be covered in clothes and wrapped in a blanket or two. Better to go for a rainy day cover. -------------  |
