Or maybe more so, the humidity. I don't know what it's like in the rest of the country but it's sooooo flippin humid here in Aucks. I really feel for the preggie ladies, I remember this time last year too well, at 38 weeks pregnant!
Anyway I think the heat is my baby go a bit nuts He used to be a really good sleeper and would go to sleep quietly by himself, now there's screaming and crying and throwing dummies over the side, and more screaming and crying and looking very upset! It could well be something else, but it just started so suddenly last night. So weird.
How's everyone else doin with the weather? Is it hot everywhere? Anyone else's kids not handling the heat well?
(insert sweating smiley here )

Yeah Chch is starting to feel like Brisbane mid summer! Feel so bad for our girls at night. It's odd I don't want to cover them up at night because of the heat but I'm scared that without blankets they won't sleep at all!?!?!
But I have to admit I love taking them into the back yard when it's sooo warm in the morning and sitting them under the shade of this MASSIVE tree with their nappys off. They love the freedom.

Sorry I don't have any advice but I agree it is SO humid here in Auckland! Humidity today was over 90%, yuck! Wish at times like these that we had a pool!

I could do without it quite frankly. I was so happy when it started raining, but 5 mins later and the sun is out again. Is nice to get out in the garden with Spencer though, although sometimes it's too hot to be out there I have to be indoors with the air con on...lol
So far he is sleeping fine with the hotter weather, thankfully his room gets morning sun so doesn't get too hot.

Actually yeah Lisa funny you say that, my boy was nakie from when he woke up from his nap at 3pm right up until he had his shower before bed... he loved it!!
KA yeah - Harry only wears cotton pjs at night, no blankets... If it gets colder during the night we put a light blanket over him. For daytime sleeps he wears a nappy and tshirt. And a fan on in the room too

90% humidity Wow!
We've been in Harry's little paddling pool a lot, it's refreshing even just putting my feet in it lol, and splashing each other with water. I must admit, it is lovely to be able to play outside in the shade.

Pomikiwi I survived last summer by soaking my feet in a bucket of cold water, eating frozen juicies, and letting DH spray me with a water gun. I'm sure your eldest would love to squirt you with water!! Lol.

pomikiwi, a foot spa or bucket with cold water and icecubes (in the water) is absolute bliss when you're pregnant in this kind of weather.

Gotta get me one of them foot baths!!!
My feet are like giant purple flippers. Not very attractive and they feel like they're going to pop everytime I take a step.

Danaj, you totally do have to get one! I had a small plastic tub, cheapo from The Warehouse, and it worked brillantly. I had feet like yours! I'd soak them, then elevate them with cold flannels on them, and then get DH or my mum to massage them

Im so jealous of your hot weather! Was in Oamaru for xmas and had lovely hot weather but now that I am back home - has done nothing but rained and windy. We are in jeans and long tops . Its very unusual for this time of year - normally its very dry and over 30 degrees. I want my summer!

Eeeeek, 90% humidity today in Auckland!!! No wonder our leisurely afternoon scoot was so damned trying. It was SO hot that my face was melting off LOL...
Keziah's actually been quite good with it.. She had a swim yesterday and spent the afternoon in a singlet and nappy then she slept from 7.45 till 7.50 but she doesn't sleep under anything, just in her summer jammies and her cot is covered by a mozzie net to keep out the bugs

I have a foot spa sitting in the shed that I've used twice if any one wants it!
All I can say is thank god for Heat Pumps! We've had ours on the Air Con since we got back from up north today, it's soooo good.
DH put the kids pool up today too, so they'll have that as a back up tomorrow.

Gosh, who'd be 27 weeks pregnant at this time of year
Gotta love my paddling pool!! I live right by the beach but have one boy who loves the water and another who hates even being on the sand so its a complicated thing to take them to the beach on my own!!

I am over this weather! It was 28 degrees in our house this morning at 7am and the humidity is up around 90% again already!
Sam (who is usually a fantastic sleeper) has been up till after 10pm the last two nights and when she does go to bed she is screaming and crying until she falls asleep. It is so awful! I can't put her to bed any earlier as it has been over 30 degrees in her room at night and that is with the window wide open and a fan going full speed! The bedroom on the other side of the house which is cooler is next door to our neighbours dog who barks and whines all day and night!!! I can't win! Arrrggghhhh!
I HATE AUCKLAND SUMMERS!

My DH is really NOT happy about the weather. All this past week its been really hot here in CHCH (27-30 degrees every day). Then this afternoon its been raining and we even had a small thunderstorm - while DH was at the cricket!!! And tomorrow is supposed to be fine again!! I have one sulky DH in the lounge room ATM!

GAH, it is so hot here aswell, Im melting! I woke up this morning and felt so hot and sticky I nearly passed out, being in early pregnancy and feeling blah anyways AND in this heat sucks!
Caden has mostly been in a nappy and shirt all day or a short sleeve and short legged AIO. He wears just a short sleeve onsie to bed and in his sleep sack cos he kicks his blankets off. I want to get him some little cotton pj's and ditch the sleep sack.
