Hi,

DH's nephew turns 4 this month and I have no idea what to get him, DH in his normal mens style would forget so it has to be me and I have no idea what a 4 year old would like (yet)

He is quite a quiet little boy, but they live in Oz so I don't know them very well and have no idea what to get him, but really want to get something as they made such a fuss when Finley was born.

Any tips greatly appreciated.

I find his nieces so much easier to shop for as you can buy them something pink and its all good, not sure a little boy would get so excited by clothes or hairbands somehow.

Jake got this big gun thing that fires soft "bullet" things from his auntie. It was cheap (i think) and he adores it. I'll take a pic and postin later tonight.

Quiet little boys often love to get puzzles. Especially at 4, he's starting to really like to work everything out himself. Find something that has a good picture with several pieces too it.

Otherwise, how about building blocks (like junior lego)

Puzzles go down well, also what is he in to?? You can get the character stuff in a set that has pencils and a colouring book and other stuff too.

Magnetix
K'Nex
Lego

Conor loved those when he was that age. You can get age appropriate ones.

Hi
A friend of mine runs a great website called kids love gifts. The best thing about it is that you can search by gender and age group Plus everything is under $25 and she wraps it, fills out the card and posts it for you. Or you can just check it out for ideas.

Joel loved and still loves books, he was more into it when he got to 4, but also things like matchbox cars.

Lego is always great too. it's something that they can sit quietly and play with for hours.

Wow thanks guys, following your suggestions, I have got him a little mecano car, he loves cars and i liked the idea of a puzzle, he likes things to be in order and working stuff out, so thought the combination would work. Plus I think his mum would approve, they are not allowed anything like play guns etc etc not sure why but each to their own.

Would never have thought of that before, so thanks heaps.
