its positive!
i actually tested on wednesday, which was way early ( still dont know why i did? hmm hormones?) and got a positive really quick and strong. so i went away and thought about it some more, went to pick xanthe up from pre school, and came home to re test. another positive. and to be sure, i finished the box off this morning with another positive test. I cant get into the doctor till wed next week, which is good, as by my calculations i am only about 3 1/2 weeks - how can that be?
does anyone have any idea on why i have tested positive so early? my last period started on 13/04/06, but my cycles since coming off the pill have been short.
I have been bursting to tell someone! to talk about it! i told xanthe, and got her to tell scott for me... she said "mummys got a baby in her tummy daddy", it was so sweet.
so fingers crossed it is "sticky" i will know more next week i guess. i think i may pester the doc for an early scan, just to see with dates.

It might be that your last period was implantation stuff??? I don't know it works properly, but when I was pregnant at the start of the year I had a very short period (~3 days) and I assume I was already pregnant by then and it wasn't a period at all!
Congratulations btw!!! Hope the baby is stuck!

I've got 2 forks now (turns out the fish slice came in a set with a fork, and I got a fork yesterday too) ...so I'll just jab you with one of those instead! It doesn't worry me if I lose one, since I've a spare.

i guess if i had said it was urgent i would have gotten in, but i didnt mind too much waiting. My doc is great, and there is starting to be a shortage of docs around town, so i guess she is getting booked up.

i'm back! and it is confirmed - i am playing host to a parasite.
we still dont know when baby is due though, doc seemed to think my last period was implantation. And i have one of those 'reverted/retroverted/upside down uterus's, so cant check that way.... so i have rang the midwife, waiting to hear back that she can take me, and then will arrange a dating scan.
it will be a jan baby though!

Another bizarre Jax-ism for you all... I didn't mind the vaginal probe ultrasound one bit ! Had it at the dating scan and again at the nuchal translucency scan, and both times the sonographer used plenty of lube - I wouldn't have thought it was that much bigger than your average penis ? *ahem* MUCH clearer pictures too, especially the very first time.

ok, so i have been sprung now. my big bro rang last night enquiring about the new addition to the family. i thought he meant the kitten. but no, someone had seen my postings on this site and told him. So whoever that was, can you please tell me who you are as he wouldnt say, only thing he would say was "you gotta be careful what you put blah blah blah" so who are you that knows me? obviously you hadnt read the posts that i wanted to keep it really quiet from our family after last time....
so today we will have to tell our parents, which i really dont want to do, but if they find out from someone else it will be bad bad bad. I know it is my fault for posting it on here and being open about my name and so on, but i am still gutted that we have to do this. we dont even have a due date yet!

Lyla,
It wasnt me & even if i did know I sure wouldnt go round telling anyone thats rude esp as you had requested that it was kept quiet. And so what if you posted on here the fact is whoever it is I consider them to be very rude and its none of their business whoever they are. I hope that the person is embarressed & ashamed cause as far as Im concerned thats not on. We are here to support each other on the journey and to share our ups & downs and get support as its a dang hard journey to go through, not to go blabbing to other people other peoples business!!

Oh Lyla, I'm so sorry to hear that someone has been so inconsiderate! Come on, whoever you were, do the decent thing and apologise to Xanthesmum (do it by PM if you're embarrassed, but please do it soon)
It wasn't me... I haven't met anyone from Oh Baby IRL yet (but I sure hope to one day!)

WHAT?? WHAT?? Who broke the sacred confessional of OHbaby? That is so not fair, and whoever you are ...Lildo deserves an apology. We should be able to talk freely here ...that's a huge point of having OHbaby. It's kinda creepy too that someone you know has been following your posts online Lildo, without identifying themselves to you.
AND, shame on you for putting Lildo under extra stress and upset when she is in early pregnancy!! That is extremely uncool.
If you want - you can have my old ladle to scone them with if you ever find out who it is ...
(Oh, and I'm not making light ...I'm trying to add cheer Just so you know)

thanks for the offer of the ladle ginger, ( i notice its not the new one though, i am glad, would hate to break it or something.... but arent you still using the old one?)
thanks girls for all your support. we told our parents yesterday, i was so upset and spent the morning crying beforehand, but the problems it would cause if they found out some other way would not be worth it. of course, the in laws acted like it was nothing ( no congratulations or NOTHING, GRRR! but that is for another post i think) i told both sets that it is up to us to tell anyone else and we want them to keep quiet about it till we start telling people. hope they got the hint!
oh well, midwife appt today, so hopefully we can arrange a scan to see how far along we all are.
oh and hi hails! (she is my oldest and bestest bestie in the world, we were each others maid of honours at our weddings this year, i put her onto this site lol) heres hoping we can compare bumps soon aye!

Well, yes I am still using the old ladle Lildo, but, for you ...I'd let you borrow it to dong someone with Mind you ....it's a bit of a crappy ladle, so maybe you might need to borrow the new solid ladle if you want to attack your in laws with it. The ladle would be happy to be used for a worth cause!! (When you're up to it - the full story please!!)
I'm so sorry that it was such an upsetting thing for you to have to spill so early to the family (READ BETWEEN THE LINES WHOEVER CAUSED THE UPSET - YOU ARE AN ASS!! ), but I'm glad that for the most important 'telling' you had a perfect picture (xanthe telling the husband!) (I told my husband what happened to you, and he was really annoyed for you ...he knows how important OHbaby is to me, and for me to be able to talk, so he could appreciate what a crappy thing happened to you!)
I hope you now have an EDD!!

Poor hubby, now that I've got AF again, is going to be trundling off to the doctor sometime soon to get his 'boys' checked. He's been really good about it though

Thanks Ginger. And from what I hear your dh hasn't got to much to worry about, another very good friend is going through I.V.F at the moment (she told me yesterday she has 12 eggs YEAH!!) and she informs me that it isn't too invasive for the male, infact as always they seem to be let off pretty darn easily.
Although my friend said getting him tested was half the battle so if he is willing to be tested thats awesome.
How did the mid-wife go today lil?

My worry if I ever get pulled over or pull up to a police checkpoint is that I might know the officers running it ! LOL *ahem*
And I just had a thought, you HAVE to be registered to read and post here... I know we have a few lurkers, but we do hear from them every now and then.
Anyway, for you Lildo, and nice to meet you Hails...

Hey Hails,
Nice to meet you too, perhaps we should name you double trouble?? soundslike it anyways LOL
Ginger - I too have to get DH to do another sample & my next appointment is to see if we do qualify for IVF. DH is a bit guttered to have to do another s/a he was hoping that in the 3 months in between appointments I would get up the duff to let him off the hook but obviously mother nature has other intentions (nasty but i LOVE her *snigger, snigger*) they have it sooooo easy in comparision

That's what I think too ....admittedly, he didn't even bat an eyelid when I (very carefully!) told him why we needed to look at him first, to exclude him. He just said he'd have to abstain for a week ...so he'd be ready to produce a sample wherever he had to!! That's my boy !!
So ...he'll toddle off to the doctor as soon as he feels ready, and then we'll wait until after we've been to Fiji (another 3 months or so) until we take it to the next step.

He he he... a parasite!! When I was young, we'd studied babies in science class at school and the teacher (pregnant at the time she was) told us that a baby is technically a parasite, but she didn't mean that in a cruel way. I went home and told my mum about how I thought that was interesting, and her friend, then pregnant but hadn't told people yet, took great offense...
now, well over a decade later, when she heard of my baby news, she reminded me about the 'parasite' comment that she appears to have hung onto for years and YEARS!!! Far out - talk about holding a grudge!
Anyway, Lil - I'm feelin' for you!! That's terrible when someone spills the news for you. I was just thinking, it mightn't even be someone you know from a bar of soap. A friend of mine was telling me the name of her friend's son, and it's an uncommon name to appear here, so when I saw his and the mum's name on this site, I realised she's the same lady... friend of a friend. I wouldn't follow her posts or anything creepy like that, because she and I don't know each-other and it's a bit stalker-styles, and also , I didn't know you could do that! Nor would I tell our mutual friend what I'd read on here, because that's just nasty-old-fashioned gossip, and I'd be so embarrassed and angry if someone did that to me! If the opportunity came up I'd introduce myself, so that should we ever meet there wouldn't be any awkwardness.
Anyway, I just wanted to give you a heads-up that it mightn't be a friend who's busted your news - could be some random person who happens to know your bro and put 2 & 2 together. (no, I'm not that random person by the way!!!). Hope you get some peace of mind by them fessing.

Hmmmm ....you seem to have that all worked out Andie ...are you sure it wasn't you? Da da da dummmmm..... Because, you know, I'd have to bash you with my ladle if it was
Hehe.
I can't remember how the parasite thing came up for me actually, it's just what I and the husband call them! It must've been something we picked up on one of those 'body' programmes or somrthing. But it's quite true really ...an expectant mother becomes a host organ for 9 months give or take when you think about it!

i think it was on the show "house" he told a lady that she was playing host to a parasite, but it would leave in about 9 months ( or something along those lines) i love it! describes things perfectly...

I have had NO TIME to post or even read on here all weekend!! Our home PC died at the end of last week and the hubby is having a hard time diagnosing and fixing the problem so I have been reduced to only reading/posting during work hours and it has been crazy busy!!
Xanthesmum - it wasn't me cos I don't even know you but I have to confess that I did tell my sister that one of the girls on Oh Baby had a BFP but I dont think she knows you either I told her that before I called you a nsty name for getting pregnant before me LOL
I am totally shocked and actually a bit worried about what I will post on here now after that has happened. You never know who could be lurking...

Methinks I'd better go introduce myself to this nice lady... friend of a friend... so if you haven't had a PM from me by tomorrow it ain't you!!

Just wanted to let you all know it was deffently not Andie it seem's I am the friend of a friend. Thanks for letting me know by the way Andie I must say I would have been a little concerned if I had found out later and said something nasty about the friend (not that i would ever have anything nasty yo say about her), but you know whatI mean. I must say who ever you are that spilt the bean's you should be ashamed as it puts a damper on the whole thing for eveyone I for one am going to be alot more careful what I write. I have been pretty open with my name etc that I forget there are heaps of people reading these that don't actually post.
