My 1 year old has used a safe t sleep since birth and we've always had problems with her waking when she's not due to, and having very short sleeps during the day from only about a month old. Has anyone had problems with their baby being uncomfortable in a safe t sleep? I'm wondering if this is the case with my girl, but it's a big step to try and stop using it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

We gradually weaned our baby from it at around 10 months. I think that she probably does sleep better without it, as she prefers to sleep on her tummy. We stopped using it during daytime sleeps first and when she managed that ok, stared with night time sleeps. I imagine that it would be really hot sleeping in one at present.

Ethan started twisting in it and trying to undo it and being really uncomfy..it took about 4 goes (cold turkey) to get him out of it..but this time we succeeded.. he sleeps wayyy wayyy better..but you are right it is hard to get rid of (for us once he was standing) and it's a big step!:) good luck!

Thanks so much for your replies. I'm glad to hear that Ethan sleeps better now, maybe my bub will be the same (fingers crossed)! We had tried taking it away a couple of months ago but that was a disaster as it was taking about an hour to get her to go to sleep! I guess we just have to persevere this time around. How long did it take to get bub to stop standing up every time you put them to bed?

Hope I don't offend anyone but I hate Safe T Sleeps!! we bought one when our first baby started rolling in her cot because it was what everyone made us believe we had to do to be safe, however she was so determined to tummy sleep that she learnt to roll within the wrap!!! We snuck into her room one night to watch and she'd rock and rock until eventually she could move onto her tummy - it took about 10mins!! Of course we realised it was rediculous for her to be strapped to her tummy so we took it off the bed and haven't looked at it since! (that was 5yrs & 2 kids ago!).
