| Has anyone used comfort blankies for their baby instead of a dummy or other comforter? I think they are called Taggies or Snugzees. I need to wean Ava off her dummy. She can pull her dummy out of her mouth but she cant put the damn thing back in and i am SO sick of having to put it back in when it falls out!!! |

Caden just has a soft blankey with a teddy bear head on it and he cuddles that but he is well attached to his dummy aswell. Im not going to bother taking it away from him until he is over one. He likes to have it when he goes to bed and when he is upset etc, but he has his snuggley blankie aswell. ------------- |

Cooper has muslin that he takes to bed with him... for awhile he knew that they were associated with bed time. Now unfortunately if I have any left around he wanders around them on his head or around his neck like a scarf!

Kylah has a blanket from the warehouse that has minky pink and white dots on one side, and silk on the otherside.
Its her blankie and 'anky' as she calls it. I didnt choose it for her, she just became attached to it and now wont sleep without it lol. She also has a dummy for bed, i wont be taking that off her untill shes old enough for me to be able to talk to her about it. ------------- ~ Mummy to a beautiful girl ~ |

We ditched the dummy at about 4 months as DS could take it out but not put it back in. At the same time I dumped all the cuddlies/snugglys we got given as gifts iin there and he became attached to one - His Rabbie.
I love it and it makes it easy when putting him t bed elsewhere etc. My one recommendation is to make sureits not too big and its easy to chuck in your handbag. -------------

E has 4 (all the same ) taggies....they are muslin ...I feel for you about the dummy...we havent been able to get rid of it and i was up a lot till 7/8 months putting it back in:( so atm he has one taggie and his dummy ------------- Mum to two amazing boys! |

My son got very attached to his cot duvet with a teddy on it. So attached that we still can't get it away from him and he is 4. He doesn't take it out of the house but sleeps with it and talks to it. I would recommend not getting a blankie as they are very hard to get rid of and look terrible the older they get. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

DS has a toy cat that has a bell in its head and jingles when you shake it....He is very attached and will not go to bed with out it. On the occasion that he does and he wakes in the night, well he will not go back to sleep and will wake the house till it is found...I wish I had bought more at the time as you can no longer get them and his is looking quite manky. When did your wee ones become attached to their blankies/toys ect. I am trying to get my DS to have something like that so he doesn't need me to sooth him to sleep for each nap but so far he's very indifferent to anything. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

| My boy Dominic has a teddy who he calls Bear and a dummy for bedtime. It is great for bedtime, we still have some issues with getting up to give him his dummy even tho he can do it himself now he is 21 months old, sometimes he is just too sleepy to find it. I think his Bear is more important to him though, and it is great for them to have something other than you or Daddy to comfort themselves with. My only advice would be to buy a couple of whatever you are going to put in the bed with her as they can get very smelly and dirty. We only have the one bear and can't find another, it caused chaos when Dom had diahorea and Bear had to go in the wash. |

| Ollie has a muslin cloth too - I would highly recommend them as a blankie as you can just buy a whole pile and it doesn't matter if one gets left somewhere. He picked one up randomly at about 5 months and since has become very attached. |

I gave Ella a taggie when she was around 6 months but she never took to it....instead at around 8 months she started taking her merino nightie that she wore as a newborn everywhere with her and now won't go to sleep without it. Luckily she also has a pair of merino PJs that she is just as happy to cuddle if her nightie is in the wash. | We gave Jack a blankie and bedtime bear from about 3 months as I couldn't even leave the house he was so attached to me. The nurse suggested giving them comfort toys to switch the attention off the mother. It works most of the time. I just wish my mum had bought a few more of the bears in case we lose one! He got attached to it at about 5 months, and wherever he goes as long as he's got bear, he's fine. Blankie he can take or leave, but its just another sleep cue which is good. We ditched the dummy at about 5 months due to getting up to put it back in - best thing we ever did. |

Jackson had a pumpkin patch wrap thingee that I introduced to him at about 4 months. After a week or so he would actually feel for it and rub it in his face. Now he searches for it all the time.
