Alex has been really unsettled during the night for about a month now. He started waking 2 -4 times a night but was ok for a little bit when we came back home again after Christmas (started a few nights before we went away) but now he is worse. For example he went to bed at 7.30 last night (was asleep about 10 mins in) woke at 9.30 had a feed went back to sleep. He slept til 12.30 then was up every hour until he woke properly at 6.30. He doesn't fully fully wake up but enough not to go back to sleep by himself. I know it could be his teeth but don't wanna just dose him up on pamol on the chance thats what his prob is. I am gonna make a doctors appt for tomorrow to get his ears checked and have a chat cos I am slowly going insane. Any ideas suggestions much appreciated. Thanks ladies

ryan did that for ages, i had to get up several times a night just to put a dummy in. he was never hungry he just woke up and couldnt go back to sleep on his own, and i couldnet leave him to self settle in the middle of the night.
no one really new what it was about,

does alex have a dummy or anything, coz we found after his dream feed he'd be really sleepy and fal asleep wth out it, which made him sleep without waking. does that make sence.

Hmm at 5 months Id say its most likely his teeth moving round, also the heat doesnt help with sleeping. Caden is usually a great sleeper and even he is being quite restless at night.
He woke last night at 3am and was talking to himself and wide awake, I just went in and put his dummy in and put his music on and left the room and he eventually went back to sleep.

Try nurofen, you can only give it ever 8 hours, so some before his bedtime and a bit of bonjels might help him feel more comfy.

Hey heather did you look at the link i put up in the Sept thread in regards to Sharlene Pooles technique to settling a baby at night? Just in case there was nothing wrong and he was waking from habit.
I do hope there is nothing wrong, good luck :o)

Thats a tricky one, could be teeth, might be the heat. If it goes on too long though I would suggest contacting the Family Centre, they are wonderful for working out why babies won't sleep.
