DH bought me flowers last night !! And yes, without being asked, so I promptly burst into "happy tears" LOL Even with all the stress and chaos of moving house, he still took the time to think of doing something special for me *sigh* I am so lucky !!
Ok, brag over

I'm not sure how to explain this just how I want, but I feel a bit 'better' being able to tell people, makes it more "real" LOL Because I'm always a tiny bit disbelieving of the fact that I have such an amazing husband. As in, Me? Husband? AMAZING? Nahhhh LOL

My DF once turned up at my work with a big bunch of flowers and a necklace that he had picked out HIMSELF for me for no apparent reason. Oooh and the other week when I didn't get this new job I thought I was in line for he unexpectedly got a dress off layby for me
But my favourite recent nice thing was when we were eating alphabet soup (I had a sudden urge to cook alphabet soup I don't know why...) he finished his bowl and showed me the letters left over which spelt my name

That is so sweet.
Sigh. 12 years ago when we first got together (and DH was a high school student with no money i might add) I used to get flowers delivered every week and all sorts of goodies. Hmmmmmmmmmmm...............where is the romance. Mind you I dont put out as often as i did back then

lolol Maria. I used to get little bits and pieces of flowers and stuff, i still do sometimes, but not toooo often.
AS for the mother's day thing.. I hope we all get something nice. For my first mother's day i got a ring, a really gorgeous huge one, (it's bigger than my engagement ring ) so i told mike that i expect another one this year so i can have one ring from each of my girls - i think it's something really special and something that i use and love, every single day. Feels like they are always with me wherever i go.

I've already got my mother's day present from Nathaniel and Josiah... Nat was so excited after he bought it, he couldn't wait to give it to me! We collect the http://www.metoyou.co.uk/ - Me to You Tatty Teddies, and Nat gave me a set that has the story of how a normal brown teddy bear became the blue-nosed grey orginal tatty teddy. It's really sweet - the set has a brown bear, the story book and a tatty teddy.
Kiya's chosen something for me too... but I'll have to wait until next weekend to find out what it is. All I know is that we were all browsing in a gift shop, and Kiya said "Daddy, come over here! I want to give Mummy one of these for Mother's Day!" and Nathaniel told her she could.

i asked dp what he was doing for motheres day for me and i got the standard "dunno, what do you want??" answer so i'm tossing up between the "oh nothing" then acting like a hard done by maryter all day or saying "well actually i want a day at a very expensive spa, with no kids, no laundry, no cooking and NO overbearing family members to bug me"
what do you think???????

go with the second one!..
as it says in the rules about men:
Subtle hints don't work, obvious hints don't work, JUST DAMN WELL TELL THEM! lolol, at least then they can't pull the "well you didn't tell me, i didn't know, why are you angry?" line on you.

last year I got a really nice pair of earrings and a book I wanted but DH didnt get me a card (well one from Kobe) which to be honest I would have been rapped with as it was my first mothers day adn I could have kept it forever! this year he isnt even going to be here, is away on a stupid fishing/drinking trip so I wont even get a sleep in!

My husband's best friend is visiting us for that weekend... hope he lets Nat spoil me - and I hope Nat spoils me!
I probably won't get a sleep in either, but that's because Kiya knows I want breakfast in bed, so I'm sure she'll be pestering Nathaniel to help make it for me!

Lewis tends to go overboard with expensive presents, which we can'tafford. I would love him to get a nice pic of the boys together and frame it for me....or take me shopping sans children. Funily enough a day where i can pretend I'm not a mum! As terrible as that may sound,
1. get up WHENEVER
2. to read in bed (not hairy bloody maclarey)
3. to have a LOOOOONG shower without anyone banging on the door yelling "mmmaaaaammmmmaaaaa"
4. to try on clothes at expensive stores, not neccesarily buy them
5. to browse clearnance CD bins
6. to have dinner cooked for me
7. to have all the dishes/laundry done WIHTOUT HAVNIG TO ASK!
8. to have a coffee at a coffee shop and not at Mcdonalds watching kids play....and that playground smells like pee, which puts me off my coffee
9. to read a trashy magazine all the way through
10. to watch a movie that isn't animated, or featuring a wise-cracking animal
i should send Lewis this list.
