Has anyone been to Vector Arena lately? I have no idea where to park - any ideas? I will be on my own so I dont really want to be walking a long way on my own in the dark afterwards. Not too worried about cost - would rather be safe!

if you get there early enough there is actually quite a bit of parking on the road. we went to a concert there a while ago and i remember not walking too far even though there were huge lines waiting to get into the building

Awesome  - also is there like a main gate / front entrance where its easy to meet people. I am trying to get a ticket (last minute) to a concert there tonight and need to meet up with my brother, although we wont be able to sit together I thought it would nice to see him before hand!

Aw - are you going to Leonard Cohen? That'll be so cool!

RE: Parking -  you could try somewhere like Downtown or the Viaduct. I realise it's a bit of a walk, but there are always tonnes of people going to and from concerts at Vector - so you wouldn't be by yourself... Just a thought.

I've heard of people getting really stung on stret parking around the arena on concert nights. Most places hike up their prices or are vigilant with towing- grr.

However, there are carparks at the Railway campus pretty much next door that you could try, or the Wilson's parking building on Anzac ave...

My friend has just rung and she saw him in Welly either yesterday or before, anyway she said he was awesome, she did not realise he was in his 70s until he took his hat off (as in she knew he was 74 but you couldn't tell while he was on stage). He did 3 encores too
Have a great night

There is a few parking places nearby. Cost us $20 when we went to the supercross event a couple of months or so ago. Had to walk around the corner & we were there, HEAPS of other people heading for their cars at the same time.
