Hi all. Does anyone have any advise or tips on how to have a girl. I would love a little pink thing, after having 3 boys.

Did anyone try anything to have a girl and then fell preggy with a girl?

Love to hear stories and idears, Thanks.

Isn't there something about when you have sex. I think that if you have sex on ovulation day you are more likely to have a boy and if you have sex a couple of days before hand you are more likely to have a girl. something to do with girl sperm (sorry can't thinkof a more approprite way of expressing that) being more resilient than boy sperm and they live longer so can hang around a bit more for ovulation.

Not sure if that's how it works we think we conceived bang on ovulation but as you can see we had a girl

Google Shettles method, I think it has a 70-80% success rate. Good luck.

We conceived a day before or on the day of ovulation and had a girl.

We followed Shettles method this time around (even did the diet) for fun more than anything, EXCEPT for the time I actually conceived as it was just after my grandad died so I wasn't exactly thinking about it all lol

I hate to tell you too, that Science says if you have more than 2 boys in a row, the chance of getting boys for the subsequent pregnancies is around 75%

LOL I think you and I have slim chances now, unless we arrange swaps

Ha ha, yip I joke that if I do fall preggy it will proberly be twin boys, watch this space lol.

Wow, busymum 3 little pink things & so cute, if you have another girl & I have a boy, swaps will be on the cards. lol. Congrats on #4.

Funny how things work out. I thought all 3 of mine would be pink had girls named picked out. I have been getting rid of my blue stuff & going to try hard out this year as this is the last year I have given myself for any more babies. So if lucky enought to have another & its a boy its all good.

But am starting tonight, so watch out DH, haha.

hehe your DH is probably going to be very pleased!

Yup you guessed it, our #4 is a girl as well. We were so sure she was a boy though - until we saw a very clear scan LOL

Can honestly say I don't know. Tried for a girl baby and have ended up with twin boys so now I'll have four boys. I wonder if it really can be planned! Good luck though

We were trying for a BOY - but had another girl.

DH tried alsorts of things, including wearing tight undies. So I suppose if your man wears boxers it might do the trick!

I have tried for a girl this time ... will let you know next mon if it worked .... my doc seems to think the timing method has worked for more than 200 of her patients (only 1 couple didn't get what they wanted apparently).
Really hope it isn't a boy cos then I will want another one and may end up with 3 boys!?!

I looked into all of this when i was pregnant with my boys but now i actually think its more to do with how fertile your hubby/partner is (so my doc has told me), how young they are, non smoker, non drinker, fit and healthy usually means very fertile which would mean more boys swimmers and vise versa for girl swimmers.
I also think you have a good indication by looking at your partners side of the family eg: boy/girl ratio.

For me my partner is young, fit and healthy and wasnt a smoker when we concieved boy#1, young fit and healthy but a light smoker when we conceived boy#2 and now he is a heavy smoker and has 1 beer a day but still young fit and healthy so who knows this time (we will know in 18 weeks i guess! lol). At first i was itching for a girl this time but after hearing from people who cant have kids i will take what im given and would be over the moon with another boy

Thanks! Good luck to you too!! It has worked for heaps of my doc patients .... so fingers crossed.
We went for 3 days before based on my shortest cycle (a bit irregular) ... so if my cycle happened to be longer that month it would have been too soon to get pg ... but I did do an ov predictor test to check as I'm so nosey and it was a "short" month. DB'd once and got pg first month!! We had been told it would probably take longer trying that way .... must be very fertile though!!

I had a friend who desparately wanted a girl and she used a method called the shettle method. Basically, you need to have sex everyday from the end of your period up to 2 1/2 to 3 days before ovulation. After this point, do not have unprotected sex until several days past ovulation.
Apparently sex further away from ovulation favors the larger slower moving girl sperm. The weaker boy sperm die more quickly in the more acidic environment and by the time of ovulation there will be a much larger concentration of girl swimmers available to fertilize the egg.
Shettle also says that the missonary position is best for concieving girls and if you want a girl that you shouldn't orgasim during sex. Don't know about that one, doesn't quite seem fair!
And if all that fails you could always send your hubby scuba diving, I've heard that kills off all the boys!
Good luck!

lol saffron, sounds like an interesting method. hehehehehe espesh since we only use missonary & i never O anyways.

Our girl was an accident LOL but I'm sure we were at least 3 days off Ov & Mummy was on top

Even had the "nah she'll be right" comment as well DOH!

Tried for a boy & bang on Ov, can't remember position weren't expecting to get preg considering the TTC track record.

Bright note, my friend had 3 boys & then her girl

I am starting to think you get what you get, so It may be another boy for me & that's ok, I like playing trucks.

It is really interesting reading everyone's comments, I bet if we all put them into a book it would blow some theories out of the water.

Keep them coming cause I'll try nearly anything, or I will start a new trend for pink for a baby boy, hee hee.
