nope just like dying your hair when pregnant - as long as it s on your head and not down below your fine (and that was my advise from my midwife last pregnancy)

I think the concern is often about the fumes created while dying your hair. So as long as you are in a well ventilated area you should be fine.

Nah its 100% fine, and its even fine during pregnancy, I dont believe one bit that colouring your hair while pregnant ot TTC does anything.
I bleached my hair while pregnant lol, the boy is fine

It doesn't hurt to turn to organic hair dye. I've been going to Nada for 6 months after I read an article in Good magazine about how a couple of Nada's customers had been referred by their fertility specialists.

I must say however, my switch to organic hair dye is more for my concern for the environment and the environment our kids will inherit. Organic hair dye also doesn't give me headaches or an itchy feeling when it's being applied like chemical hair dye used to. It also lasts longer and my hair has never been in better condition.

As well as Nada in Epsom, there's also Hue in Mt Eden who do organic hair dye and I'm sure there are hair stylists all over the country offering organic options as it's better for their health, too. You can also buy DIY packs from health stores for around the same price as the Loreal packs etc. My mum dyes her hair at home so I put her onto the organic stuff and she loves it.

Also, when I say organic, I'm not talking about henna. I tried henna once and it really didn't work for me!

I've not heard of it being a prob while TTC! but I did avoid it while preggers, didn't wanna risk it as I understood that it was thought to be safe but there has been insufficient research to be certain... hence a massive head of regrowth in both my kids newborn pics

Treen - prob a silly question but is organic hair dye just for colouring or can it lighten also??

Hi freckle,

I go a darker shade than my natural colour but I found this link on the Nada website. I'm pretty sure they also do highlights and back washing.

It's all down to what the user wants to think, really. Nothing's ever been proven either way. But I know that for a lot of people who have been TTC for a while, you're keen to give anything a shot if it may help! I'm TTC, going natural with all my health and beauty products and lately I've started to get really passionate about the environment, so I thought; why not? And now, I'm onto a product that works better for my hair.

Yes I would have to agree with your comment on when you have been ttc'ng for a while you'll give anything a go. Good on you treen for looking after the environment, we all have to do our bit.   Bonus is if it makes your hair healthier!!!
