OK so my sis is getting married mid March, the Hens Night being 28 Feb and I'm organising the whole thing (one other BM being in Aus, the other just being useless )
We are starting out at an Indian Restaurant at 8pm then I guess we'll do the town/dare thing or whatever. I have a few ideas but nothing concrete.
What I would love is some ideas of what to do and also some help with finding some things if you know of where to go for them So here's what we have so far...
We'll do a quiz (will quiz the DF first) about the partner, and for each one she gets wrong she drinks (should be drunk pretty quick I reckon!). I also want a task list for later on but she did it for me so am trying to find some original ones, not like the ones EVERY hens night seems to have IYKWIM. I found one about finding the male alternatives to the Spice Girls - classic!
She doesn't want strippers, or to do karaoke, and doesn't want to spend 'all night in town' but wants to be in town. Difficult much?!
Also, I want to make her a sash saying Future Mrs X on it (can't find anyone that does personalised sashes - don't want a top as she did something similar for me) and thought about making one and then doing iron-on transfers. BUT... the only paper I found is in packs of 10 sheets for $40! Any ideas? Does anyone sell letters of the alphabet or anything like that so I can just order what I need?
AND.... last but not least (for now anyway), I want something that all of us can have that will distinguish ourselves in a crowd. For my hens night we had glowstick bracelets and flashing things around our necks, I want something glow in the dark as I think its a great idea but don't want to copy what she did for me?
Any ideas would be appreciated! TIA

I think there's some people on TM who do sashes for Hen's parties. Also MarthaStewart.com has some games in the weddings section. You know Martha would never associate with strippers lol!

We had pink feather things for around our necks, and tiaras I think. Not my thing but I guess we stood out.
I had a tshirt I had to wear and all my dares were on that. Once I got into town a lot of people were quite interested in reading what I still had "left" to do on my shirt. They just wrote on it in vivid.
My bridesmaid did the quiz thing for me and I loved it. We also made p*nises from playdough which was great after a few drinks.

My friend's bridesmaid got her a 'bride to be' sash from Hensinc.co.nz Don't know if they do personalised ones though. They also have lots of other things on the website for hen nights

I wasn't into strippers or anything either, but my hens night was still fab! I had two, one here and one in NZ
We did the quiz thing too, it was great and yes you do quick drunk pretty quick if the questions are random enough! For my dares I had to pop balloons to find out what was next (space throughout dinner) .. no knives or forks allowed. Also twice at dinner a box went round with dares for all the other girls to do too, but they weren't allowed to tell anyone else what they had to do IYKWIM.
For my friend's hens day we played a game where everyone started off with 3 pegs and you weren't allowed to say certain words (grooms name, wedding and weather I think it was). If you did, someone was allowed to steal one of your pegs. Whoever ended up with the most at the end of the day won
Oh, and my girlfriends all dressed as cowgirls for my Hens night here - and they had somehow got me real leather chaps to wear over my jeans along with a sparkly gold cowgirl hat and bandana. I also had a rooster placard thingee to carry round like a tour guide lol.

welllll, we went to the Den on K'Rd to look for props, found a few , but mostly found a shop assistant eager to show us their wide range of vibrators and butt plugs (whatever the heck that is)
her actual hens night, we had dinner at Midnight Express, turkish food, was lovely , then we went back to my mates apartment where we drank (well not me ) and had dessert etc, played games, eg, pin the penis on the man (we got that from the den ) played a trick on bride to be , dressed bride to be in tutu, sash , etc and went to town , where she managed to complete all the dares (quite impressive, shes quite gutsy when shes drunk!)
I have to share the trick we played on her , she was very very adamant that she didnt want a stripper, but , years ago she had confessed to us that she thought Ron Weasley from Harry Potter movies was hot , so , we printed off a pic of Ron's face, stuck it on a balloon , and put the balloon on a stuffed body ,made of boys clothes and newspaper .
Then we blind folded her, sat her in the middle of the room , turned "Buttons " by the Pussy cat dolls on and knocked on the door, she FREAKED out , after tormenting her for about 2 minutes we took her blindfold off, seeing Ron she laughed so hard she fell off the chair , was priceless.
we then made her take Ron everywhere with us that night, the bouncers thought it was hilarious .

You could also try looking at the Pole Dancing club in Christchurch where they give lessons. It's apparently great fun for a hens night and they specifically cater for them. Website address is www.pole.co.nz for the info.
I was going to go there when organising a hens night but the bride had just had a knee operation so we couldn't do it which was a shame. Would be something a bit different to do while you're in town but it is a little more expensive for everyone.

Oh! I also meant to mention a funny hens night stunt I saw on the weddings website when I was a regular there ... one of the girls had to go to Hell Pizza (Syn) in central Wellington dressed in a towel (she was actually wearing boxers and a boob tube underneath I think) and order a meal to take out. Photos were VERY funny

Just watch the pole dancing, make sure it is a while before the wedding. I went with one hen party and we were all covered in bruises the next day.
