Does anyone have a solution to stop baby rolling over?
Has anyone used a safety wrap or a wedge successfully? My hubby and I were up out of bed about 6-7 times in the space of 1/2 an hour in the wee hours of this morning ... *groan* Baby goat would happily sleep on her tummy if she didn't keep getting her head jammed against the bars of the cot. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

We use a safety sleep (and have done since she could roll over and stand up).

Oh, yes .. Isabelle can roll over in hers .... she is a tummy sleeper so we leave it lose enough so she can roll, but she cant stand up IYKWIM

It may take a few nights but she would probably get used to sleeping with head against bars. It would take her a few nights to get used to a safety sleep too. I figure if they want to sleep on their tummy and they are strong enough to roll then let them but some are more cautious than I and I understand that too. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

We've got the same prob & decided to put up a cot bumper (even though you're not meant to before 1 year) so he doesn't get his legs & arms caught inbetween them. I've also started using the foam wedge thing which he'll fall to sleep in but by the morning he's managed to kreep up to the top of his cot & turn onto him tummy but then it's not too far from feeding time & if he gets upset I just turn him around & back into the wedge & he'll fall back to sleep again. ------------- 3yr old gorgeous ID twin boys. |

| i am having the same problem atm. My wee boy sleeps on his tummy usually (oooo bad mother) but now rolls onto his back which he can't seem to fall asleep on. Also does it in his sleep and hits his head against the bars and wakes himself up. I am thinking of putting bumpers in. Ive already broken the rules by letting him sleep on his tummy. |

I feel your pain! As we speak, Daniel is up on his hands and knees in his cot. It took about 3 weeks before he remembered he can roll back, though he only remembers half the time.
His cot is fully bolstered - we've rolled up polarfleece blankets - 2 lengthwise and 2 widthwise, and have one on each side of the cot. They work about 80% of the time, though sometimes I go in and find him on his back benchpressing them ------------- Mum to two wee boys |

No - may only leave a very temporary red patch or the slightest dent in the skin which comes out after an hour or two.
I use a sleep wedge but have found that for one of my boys, he just wiggles up out of it and then sideways across his cot - he is happier not using it. Caden is a very wriggly baby, he rolls and rolls and rolls around his cot lol, he is always on his hands and knees rocking or smooshing his face onto his mattress and sticking his bum in the air, he is terrible.
He was in a safe t sleep but we ditched that cos he started to roll and would get stuck, now he sleeps whatever way he wants. We have a bumper pad around his cot, but it doesnt go across where the bar lifts up and down, so I sometiems weave a thick blanket through the bars, that helps a bit. he is always banging his head on the bars When he rocks he forgets that they are there, but it doesnt bother him lol------------- |

We used a side sleeper for Dominic as he hated the wedge and just wriggled until he rolled over the top. And we use a wedge for Isobelle because she hates the side sleeper. Isobelle would be happy without anything but we have to sleep her on her side because she spills constantly during her sleeps.
Bumpers are great too, if you are worried about suffocation you can get those airweave ones now from SafeTSleep. |

Silly question - how do you use the wedge? We brought one (the type with the two triangle wedges) But I have no idea how its supposed to work. When can you use it from? ie what age?

I will be trying not to use the SafeTsleep, for the reason stated above, can be hard to get them use to sleeping without it.
Arianne loves sleeping on her side, I can get her to sleep easier on her side then on her back. I think there is nothing wrong with sleeping on her side, at least if she pukes up milk it will fall out and not choke her. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

We are currently using a wedge and safety sleep, plus Heidi is swaddled. She currently sleeps really well. Sleeping on their sides is recommended by some, and I have been advised that it will help with reflux.
My nephew was in a safety sleep until he was approx 8 - 9 months old and was just slowly weaned off it e.g. made it looser and looser then took it away all together or did day time sleeps without and night time sleeps with. ------------- http://alterna-tickers.com">

Sorry im not much help but my son does that also.... He's only 8wks old and he wont sleep any other way apart from on his tummy & without a doubt whenever we hear him snuffling and snorting sure enough his head is right up against the top bars of his cot....
